  1. alchohol is a mild dopamine agonist, hence it does stimulate in low doses. in higher doses, other actions overwhelm that, notably it's action on the GABA receptors, which causes a general slowing down of activity throughout the brain. word.
  2. those people have no right to live in switzerland anyway. the swiss managed to build one of the most functional societies in world, something that most countries could never dream of coming close to and they don't have to let any scumbag come there and take advantage of them. anyway, the immigrants they are having problems with there are mostly white.
  3. i got on 12oz in spring 99 i think. at that point, you didn't have to register. it was just a little message board. i also lurked on alt.graffiti. that place was pretty cool. a fairly high ratio of posters there were good/famous writers. there should an alt.graffiti thread on here. i remember everytime anyone tried to talk about freights, dudes from germany would flip out and say stuff like "all USA writers are toys who don't do real trains." there was a kid "augi" that everyone hated who was a lot like tease on here. zack morris always said some funny shit. espo was researching his book etc.
  4. Re: Everybody that hates those fucked up new caps on the Painters Touch check this ou damn you must not live where i do. you're lucky then. people around my way do fillins with berry pink oultined with apple green and shit like that. a lot of younger writers only paint with the brightest colos. i really don't see how PT "isn't bombing paint" what ever that means. its not as thick as stops rust? and its AA too thats has the female caps. is that not bombing paint too? most writers i know use a mix of various rusto brands - stops rust, AA, PT, satin, professional, am. finest more or less based on what colors are good/price and ease of racking. maybe PT orange and white suck but grape, jade, spa blue etc. are dope. you're talking like there's only chill spots and tags/throw ups. some of us do illegal peices in risky places(including on things that move). we want to be done quicky without limiting ourselves to the stops rust colors. to be honest, when you have used montana with pink dot caps, it can be hard to want to go back to even rusto with rusto caps for certian high risk activities, let alone stock caps. on a side note, anyone remember that trend around the last turn of the century of writers using only stock caps and coming on here saying shit like "i don't need fancy caps, that's for fags." boy was that ridiculous. i assume those people were only doing freights in the woods somewhere with nothing to worry about.
  5. Re: Everybody that hates those fucked up new caps on the Painters Touch check this ou mainly that they fill in too slow. if the spot is chill it doesn't really matter, but if you need to paint fast, you need fat caps.
  6. what are you calling BRO's? where i live, we call frat boy types "bro." these guys look like white trash idiot wigger types.
  7. as far from perfect as the current nyc graffiti scene is, at least it still has one, with thousands of writers at that. in a lot of mid size cities that once had strong scenes, graff is on life support with the number of active writers in the low double digits and very little graff visible to the public. most cities in the US(that had graffiti at the time) were much more bombed in 1994 than they are today.
  8. to some extent, isn't this a natural outgrowth of the general trend of writers being older and traveling more and it being easier to get in touch with people through the internet etc? social climbing was always part of graffiti for some. now its a lot easier to do and it's gone nation/world wide. it's also hard to keep the same crew for a long time when every one else you started with doesn't write anymore and you've moved to a different city 2-3 times since you started.
  9. fuck cocaine that shit sucks. if it weren't for cocaine, weed would probably be legal now. when are they going to make a movie about thrid world street urchins that huff gasoline and get executed by the police at age 9. shit would be ten times cooler than scarface.
  10. it's sort of implied that subway means heavy rail. i know germany has lots of those trams that run partially underground and i've heard cats from over there debating whether they are subways or not.
  11. killing a cop or guard makes you a hero to other prisoners.
  12. yeah, i think that's the best show on television. it's like the real version of all those fake ass csi/law and order bullshit shows that morons watch. most of those dudes get caught because the police get a tip about who did it and then search a database of street names like "okay we're pulling up gee dog's file right here, his real name is ...." some dudes i remember we're called "lil' homie," "white boy" and "goo man."
  13. was this guy featured on a previous thread or something?
  14. yeah, whats up with that? new york thins gave a very rough line on a newer can of UFB that i barrowed. the pressure seems higher too. fuck krylon though, im not using it anymore. i have a few hundred cans from about 94 to 2004 and when i use them up no more. i'm not even going to buy it if its 25c a can. except gloss white, ufb, true blue and banner red. i still have love for those colors.
  15. you need to come to the east coast, the roads are much more poorly designed(and older and falling apart) and the drivers are much worse and more belligerent.
  16. i hope this is right, but it seems the customer service people at rustoleum are mostly clueless and have given out a lot of confusing information. anyone remember how from about 1986 to relatively recently rustoleum had those other "comfort tips" and valves that sprayed like shit? skipping, weak fuzzy lines. that shit sucked. these female stock tips spray a lot nicer than that shit did. ive also seen four new colors: marigold(orange-yellow), magenta(like saftey purple), a nice blue(i wanna say caribbean?) and one other one i forget in pt gloss, with the new valves. this is at an independent local paint store, haven't seen these at hd, ac moore or lowes. this store also has "orchid" in aa satin, old cap system, a sick purple-pink color. i havent seen this one at any chain stores either. there's also a new real light blue and a real light pale green in stops rust, forget the names. none of this shit in on the web site. anyone else seen any new shit lately?
  17. if this is real, this is the best thread ever.
  18. its not that you can't use them for outlines, its that they aren't good for filling in fast. some of us need to fill in fast.
  19. this is looking pretty serious. i think we all need to write to rustoleum and ask them to stop this shit now. i haven't found any good caps to use on these cans. the best cap i found sprays like a soft cap. a little fatter but fuzzy and not real fast. slightly better for filling in and blends, useless for everthing else. ill also let you all know that a lot of industrial brands are switching over to female caps as well. it seems to be taking over. p2m, im with you on the train thing. im not filling in on stainless steel with stock caps, theres no way. all these toys who say it doesn't matter aren't doing anything where time matters and there are real consequences to getting caught. looks like montanas going to be getting some more business. its a shame that this is happening now when all these sick new colors have come out. it was looking like we finally have widely available domestic paint that can compete with euro paint in the color area, then this shit...
  20. Re: The Jimmy Hoffa's end zone cemetery...superthread real ones:
  21. many petroleum/natural gas products processing and storage facilities already have vibration detecting fences. that takes it to a whole new level of difficulty: cut a fence and five minutes later, the whole police department is there. there are also all kinds of electromagnetic, light and sound sensor devices that can be used. for example, these can take the form of wires buried in the ground that detect the change in an electro magnetic field caused by your body passing through it. not easy to defeat. the fact is, the technology is there to secure any area that the government feels really needs to be protected.
  22. dope thread. you got a nice scene in caracas it looks like.
  23. A Turnpike fence to hide tanker cars from terrorist eyes Wednesday, December 13, 2006 BY TOM FEENEY Star-Ledger Staff The state will guard against a potential terrorist attack on chemical-filled freight trains by building a 10-foot-high fence and installing sensors and closed-circuit monitors along a 2.6-mile stretch of the New Jersey Turnpike between Linden and Newark. The 90-ton tanker cars that are often stopped on the rails just off the northbound side of the Turnpike represent a terror threat that homeland security officials have worried about since bombings in recent years against commuter rails in Spain, England and India. The cars -- often in plain view of passing motorists -- are used to carry chlorine, ammonia and other toxic substances that could wreak havoc over a large area if the tankers were ruptured in an attack. An estimated $6 million will be spent by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority to erect the so-called privacy fence to shield the tankers from public view. The authority's board voted yesterday to let executive director Michael Lapolla award the contract once bids are opened next month. The state Department of Transportation will turn the barrier into a "smart fence" by designing and installing a system of closed-circuit monitors and motion sensors to be used with the privacy screen. That work will begin when construction on the privacy screen is further along, DOT spokeswoman Erin Phalon said. "You can't shoot what you can't see," Richard Cañas, director of the state Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, said yesterday in describing the security benefit of the privacy screen. "The objective is to get the cars out of sight and, hopefully, out of mind." The Turnpike Authority will pay for the fence. Cañas said his office has set aside $600,000 to pay for the technology that will be used with it, though he expects it will cost less. The fence will be installed in three sections. A 1-mile stretch will be erected near the Bayway Refinery in Linden. Stretches of 1.1 miles and a half-mile will be erected near Port Newark/Elizabeth, across the Turnpike from Newark Liberty International Airport. The fence is being built on an accelerated schedule, Lapolla said. That's why the board voted yesterday to let him award a contract after bids are opened Jan. 4 rather than waiting for the next board meeting Jan. 31. Officials expect it to be in place by the spring. Gov. Jon Corzine, whose concern about the safety of New Jersey's chemical facilities dates to when he served in the U.S. Senate, directed the Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness to come up with a rail security strategy to protect both commuter and freight operations, Cañas said. "Transit is our Achilles' heel," Cañas said. "That's what keeps me up at night." The sections of rail just off the heavily traveled section of Turnpike known as "chemical alley" were quickly identified as areas where security needed to be beefed up, Cañas said. Conrail and other freight operators have told state homeland security officials that tankers are not left near the Turnpike when they are filled with dangerous chemicals. Nonetheless, Cañas said, the public perception of a vulnerability was enough to justify the security measures. "Everybody who drives up and down the Turnpike says, 'What the heck is going on with those tankers so close to the highway?'" he said.
