  1. I live about 11 miles from downtown Los Angeles. I currently live in a city next to the city I grew up in. I moved away to orange count a few years back. Had my own house a few blocks from Disneyland. Sold that house after a divorce. Moved in with girlfriend. I like it here. I'd like to buy another house I guess. Gotta wait for the housing market to kinda take a shit again so I can jump in again. Shithole fixer uppers in my area are 400k and decent is 500+. Los Angeles is obviously pretty well known for things to do and places to see. I usually avoid those places. I'm on the east side. I feel like it has more history and culture. A lot of people talk shit about LA and the superficial atmosphere. No doubt. But I see that on the west side with rich people and transplants. The true Los Angeles people that have been here trying to carve out a slice of the American Dream before it was a piece of America. The heart and soul of the city that make the city run. I do enjoy going hiking in the San Gabriel mountains near Pasadena. A few minutes north of DTLA. Some short hikes with nice waterfalls. Summer nights at Dodger Stadium are nice. Still trying to get over last seasons ending. Went to all 4 games of the World Series. Weekday games can be had for a great price. The Griffith Park observatory is a great place to go. Obviously the regular observatory stuff but also great views of downtown, Hollywood, and the grids and layout of the city. Lots of hiking trails in Griffith park as well. Griffith park is also home to Travel Town. It's a cool little train museum with a bunch of trains you can get on and explore. They have a small train you can ride on. It's a hidden gem for rail fans and never crowded. The Gene Autry museum is located in Griffith park next to the LA Zoo. Lots of cowboy and native history stuff. But the also have rotating exhibitions there. Some Ive seen there Johnny cash, Yosemite rock climbing history, Los Angeles street names dedicated to saints. Etc. We have the Page museum located at the la Brea tarpits. They have animals the pulled out of the tarpits etc. One of my favorite places as a kid. The natural history museum is a great museum. Dinosaurs, gemstones, animals from around the world. Exhibits with insects, the Los Angeles River, butterflies, along with rotating exhibits. A big tattoo exhibit was held a couple months ago. Theres other museums located on the grounds like the African American museum and science center as well as rose garden and fountain. I generally don't go to Santa Monica, Venice or Malibu for my beach fix. I prefer Orange County beaches like sunset, Huntington, or Bolsa Chica. Sometimes Crystal Cove. Huntington and Bolsa Chica have fire pits so you can have bonfires on the beach. San Pedro is cool at the ports of long beach and Los Angeles. Food wise. Every one knows about In n Out. Taco wise King Taco is the most famous taco place but I don't feel the greatest. There's so many taco, burrito, burger, pizza places around. It's kinda more about where you live. Since Los Angeles is so big. Different area have their local spots. I'd probably like to live here for the rest of my life. Or at least until those im close to die off. Then I'll travel or find a cheap home in green triangle when I retire at 55 from my union city job.
  2. I have theories about gun violence specifically young adults and in school. I'm on my phone so I'll be brief. Kids used to fight get jumped and move on. Some kids were bullied continuously. Nowadays most kids are soft. No exercise. No social interaction. Always on phones. Kids still get picked on. But it doesn't stop at school anymore. It continues on social media. Kids can't escape it. Bullied kids turn to YouTube blogs etc. with other kids. Get angrier and kind of get "radicalized". Easy access to high capacity guns. Instead of getting your homies together to confront the bullies you get your guns and fuck everyone up that wasn't on your side. I also think times have changed. A lot of people are having it hard making it life. It's not like before you graduate school your dad gets you a job with a buddy of his and your start your white collar career anymore. And I think a lot of WASP male kids are seeing that and not knowing how to deal. And are taking it out on others. Look at those involuntary celibates. They can't pull chicks. So you take it out on all women and run them down on sorority row.
  3. Bacon grilled cheese sandwich and crinkle cut fries at the local burger spot.
  4. Pistol checking in. I've met up with IOU and MarcofromHouston at a Dodger game. I follow a few old oontz heads on IG. I think the oz kinda fell off when Raven was doing other things and the oz was left on the back burner. The traffic and data was too much. Ads for hats and shit started popping up. And a lot of us bounced. I would come back every once in a while. But the quality of user dropped off. Short attention span social media meme trolls. A lot of the community back and forth was gone. So I was less inclined to visit. At the same time I'm almost 40 with a kid now so I probably won't be on as much even if the OG's came back around. On that note I'm gonna try and make it in here more often. Also big up Raven for hooking up a free sticker pack and a 12ozprophet patch. Viva la oz!
  5. Is the AKA silver book the same one as the old one that I think came with a card and a link to exclusive photos? It's been a while so I might have it confused with another book. Lost my original when the ex wife "accidentally" threw it away during the divorce.
  6. like the others not feeling the god shit. When I see that shirt I picture an anti tax/anti govt, tea partier with Maga hat, protesting with the Bundy's talking about being a constitutional patriot.
  7. Watching fantasy football show on tv while baby sleeps and gf watches tv upstairs. Waiting for gf to get ready and baby to wake up and go to dinner.
  8. Long time Decyferon. Like said earlier connecting with anyone at age 13 sucks. Don't do anything that will prevent you from working on and keeping that relationship with your son. Your kid will be a much better human being with his dad in his life. I went to marriage counseling toward the end of my marriage. In the end it wasn't meant to be. But the therapy helped. Fast forward years later. I have a girlfriend and the best little girl a dad could ask for. No matter how bad things might seem there's always better days. Somethings you have control over some you don't. Focus on the things you can control. Things that make you happy. Things that build a better you. Physically, mentally, spiritually. Exercise, reading, hiking, camping, volunteering, etc. I have faith in you bro. You are meant for better things.
  9. So Kidblount makes knives and was mauled by a grizzly twice? Damn kid has bad luck.
  10. Anyone here play? I already started Decker. I'm torn between Dez and Edelman. I think there are going to try and get him involved and feed him after not being involved last week. But he is going up against Josh Norman. And since Gronk is out I think Edelman could have a good game. He G ot a lot of targets last week. Also thinking about throwing Blount in as my flex. Solid last week though Pats backs are hit and miss. The forecast says rain so they might run the ball a lot. I also play draft kings if anyone is down for a 12oz weekly game. My roster consists of QB's Matt Stafford Derek Carr RB's Lamar Miller Ryan Mathews LaGarrette Blount Ameer Abdullah Chris Johnson WR's Odell Beckham Jr. Eric Decker Dez Bryant Julian Edelman TE Dennis Pitta Zach Ertz K Chris Boswell Defense Carolina
  11. Courtesy of Perveract aka @Tesseract Still got it.
  12. I know a lot of people wanted an anthology similar to American horror story. But I think think they left it open so they increased the chances of getting picked up again by Netflix. This show seems like it would be a great anthology series. Though I do like the chance to see more of the characters. It's gonna hard with a young cast going through puberty.
  13. so it came out about a month or so ago. My girls co worker suggested it. And described it as goonies/ET/X files. So we netflixed it one weekend. I loved it. It was a good way to describe it. It reminded me of those 80's movies with adventurous kids that I used to watch. It's got Wynona Rider and Matthew Modine. The little girl that plays Elle is awesome. Highly recommend giving it a go.
  14. I wish I could edit the title. I would've changed it to dance n graff. It's taking a minute to remember oontz speak. I have to read up more on her before I can say she has my vote. Thanks for clearing up the anti vax thing. That's one of the things I disliked about her.
  15. Green Party presidential candidate visited water protectors in the Dakotas. They are trying to protect sacred land and water resources and outsiders are putting a pipeline that was fast tracked without proper environmental studies. Anyways she caught a tag on one of the pipeline company's bulldozers.
