  1. I have the same eye issue, but not all red dots are affected by that. There’s three primary red dot types and the holographic ones are most affected. Try a reflex site. Not sure I’d run irons offset. Generally irons are for pushing out so offsetting them doesn’t make as much sense to me as offsetting an RMR that’s built for rapid target acquisition so likely closed in. Guess you can’t co-witness under magnification and also probably unlikely your optic would fail so kind of a tough one. Personally I’d prefer to run a magnifier behind a red dot than run permanent magnification, but I suppose it’s a matter of your intention with that gun and the distance your planning to run most your shots at.
  2. You can do that too. Options will be limited to basic colors probably. Batch dying isnt too big a deal, especially out your way. Much smaller hurdle then getting the stuff cut / sewn.
  3. Few things to keep in mind... You can't discharge synthetics and can't discharge some dyes / colors, assuming you plan to discharge, which is a fairly common method to underbase color on darks and maintain a light hand. Tighter the weave, the better it going to hold the ink. Too much stretch and you also limit what inks you can use.
  4. Yeah, there's certainly spot where they'll break minimums down to 48, but those are seen as sample runs and the cost per unit is exponential. I'm talking actual manufacturing. I've looked into this for years, both for myself and for clients... Not easy, which is why so few brads can do it. Most struggle just running a quality open market blank that is custom branded. Also, cost for printing stacks up fast as well, which is what led me to doing my own thing, along with all the shit quality out there. Once you do a color or two per placement, run a chest, back and sleeve and add in a custom label of some sort, you end up pushing to like $15 a tee. Then add in a quality blank and that's easily another $6 - $8 depending on what you buy (size and color). That's why you see brands like Noah breaking it down and then charging $50 for a tee despite not having a middle man and then still trying to push volume to make it worth the effort.

    Shoes?

Just posted this in another thread, but going to give these a go for everyday ranch sneakers... minus one point for being low tops. plus one point for being gore-tex. plus a point for having blaze accents for that high visibility. trying to balance practicality with flossing while out in the woods. I can tell all the deer are jealous of how I strut.
  6. generally you’re looking at 6 or 6.1oz for heavyweight. 5.5oz or greater is officially heavyweight and the most I’ve seen is 7.5oz. Not entirely sure why they don’t generally go heavier but that’s been my experience. Also has to do with the finishing... Open yarn, brushed and / or combed cotton etc.
  7. That’s a lot of product, especially for an upstart. Just in tees, you’re looking at generally a 100 minimum, but a lot of presses hate taking on less than 300 cause it’s basically all setup. So 10 graphics you’re at 1000 - 3000 tees just doing minimums. Figure about $12 a tee (maybe a little more or a little less and that’s using a fairly cheap stock blank), you’re at $12,000 - $36,000 just on tees. For a custom blank, you’re looking at usually 50k piece minimum and many rounds of prototyping so that’s a massive investment. You’d be doing them all in white and then batch dying in groups. Once you’re at larger volume you’d then dye fabric before it’s cut and made into shirts. If you’re going made in USA on a heavyweight blank you’re looking at 2.5 - 3x cost on the blank so that’s a cost of closer to $18 - $20. So on 1000 - 3000 pieces you’re looking at $18,000 - $20,000 on a minimum and $54,000 or $60,000 on what must consider a small order. Anyhow, not trying to deflate your idea but making sure you have a clear idea since you mentioned kicking off with 10 graphics and then still doing some cut / sew.
  8. @NightmareOnElmStreet @mr.yuck you guys might want to kick a thread off in the Jekyll Island Group.
  9. you got a new kid... enjoy the idle time cause you won’t have much of that for the next bunch of years.
  10. I’d be interested to hear more. What do you do (assuming you can talk about it) and what / how does social media tie into it?
  11. http://blog.yobenlee.com/uncategorized/fuck-social-media/ Interesting little article I came up on today. Worth the read.
  12. @SchnitzelI have a pretty awesome setup (at least in my mind, but @Mercerhas been out here and seems to agree), but that land I posted is the dream. Honestly if I could pull off more I would, but 813 acres nestled between Federal land is a pretty solid setup. I’d probably start with an airstream or maybe just tents while building a cool modern, minimalist cabin. The dream would be to setup a sprawling custom home and maybe 5 or so cabins / homes that complimented their surroundings. Something that felt secluded, but was intelligently considered around a communal area for both entertainment / leisure, as well as cooperative agriculture and ranching. I’d carefully select a couple good people / families and leave a couple spots open for guests. Basically a commune / cooperative type arrangement. Lots of great things you could do with a piece of land that big.
  13. Blanks are literally the biggest pain in the ass ever. So much harder than anyone would ever think... Assuming you can find the cut you like, good luck finding the weight. Assuming you might be able to find a balance of the two, good luck finding one that wears well. Then assuming you compromise some more on all that, good luck finding a suitable variation with color pallet. Then most likely, it has shitty distribution, if any, so you're going to pay out the ass and then get painted into a corner when they inevitably get back ordered when you need it the most cause they're a small brand with shitty organization. So yeah, have yet to find a blank I really like and have changed my mind a dozen times before just settling back on the same blank I've been using and being totally unhappy with it.
  14. Find myself really only listening to podcasts these days. Still some of the old classics on repeat and occasionally some ambient soundtrack of like birds chirping in the woods, but yeah. To be honest, I miss the days of running out to buy physical copies of music. Now it seems you don't even buy digital copies, but instead pay for a service in perpetuity thats like a fancy all knowing radio station. Was never a huge music lover (always been more visual), but kinda killed off what love I had for music. Or maybe I'm just not being exposed to new stuff that I can wrap my head around.
