So: Don't get too close to the tracks as this pisses off most railroad employees Don't make a damned nuisance of yourself like so many moron railfans do Stay the hell out of places you don't belong, and show others a little respect Don't steal things or be a vandal, railroads and land owners hate you enough already. My main observation when I encounter a group of benchers is that they are usually in a huge hurry and have little patience._ For many of them it's about covering the most distance and bagging the most trains in a small amount of time._ If a group like that shows up, there are usually also quickly gone, particularly if there are no trains at a particular location at the moment. I, on the other hand, like to look for locations with possibilities and then to wait for those possibilities to materialize._ I'd rather get a few really nice photos rather than many mediocre ones.
