blood fart
There's already a few threads like this, unless they got deleted in the mess. Austin is my hometown. If you give me a few ideas about stuff you are into, I can tell you a million places to go. If you're not a total buster, you will enjoy these places. Hamilton's Pool http://www.austinexperience.com/outdoors/spotlight/hamilton_pool/hamilton_pool.html Mt Bonnell http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Bonnell I'm sure this thread will haev some stuff to do. http://www.12ozprophet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=98845&highlight=Austin

blood fart
You might can make this. If tickets are still available. Chaos In Tejas is brutal and/or crucial.
MrChupacabra
If you're into punk at all, one of the best fests i can think of, with amazing bands from all over the world is coming up. http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2009/03/chaos_in_tejas.html venues/bands//details/etc
MrChupacabra
ha, BF beat me to it. Its especially crucial this year. I'm lucky enough to have already seen Hjertestop and will be seeing Skitkids and Amebix in the upcoming weeks, but goddamnit would i kill to see Judgement, Career Suicide, and a bunch of the foreign bands on there that verrrrrry rarely, if ever, tour the states. blood fart
The dude that puts on Chaos In Tejas is a looooong time family friend. I've known him since he was probably 5 or 6. He lived next door to me in Northern VA. Then moved with my family when we came back to Austin in 95. He never left and seems to have made quite the name for himself in the scene. He's a good dude. In searching for another Austin thread to link in this thread, I came across a 14 page appreciation thread for me. The past was a good time for me on the internet. The present is a excellent time for me in real life.

No shit, Timmy does an AMAZING job. It somehow gets better and better each year. Although last year ROky Erickson played. I missed it because I had to catch a international flight the next morning. The best. I saw The Dicks about a month and a half ago when I went back to visit family. Such a good time. I made a thread about Chaos In Tejas a few years ago. It's one of the only shows I would go to and make it a point NOT to drink so that I could make sure to remember it all.

Vietnamese sandwich trailer " Lu Lu B's " on South Lamar between Office Depot and The rim shop on the ( just after Oltorf street if you are heading South from Downtown) East side of the street . Awesome lemon grass pork sandwiches and noodles ( not in soup ). Sadly not open late at night

blood fart
http://www.kplamar.com/ Kim Phung on North Lamar at 183. Best Vietnamese ever. I always went there because it's a short bike ride from my hood, but they win awards every year for best noodle bowls or other crap like that from The Chronicle. Any type of food you would want to eat, let me know and I can tell you the best place to get it. Java Noodle House on Oltorff has awesome Indonesian food. Thai Terra on 6th about 1-2 blocks east of Lamar has awesome foods. Swad on North Lamar @ Rutland has the best vegetarian Indian foods. There is a Indian place that I can't remember the name of that is in a little strip mall on Burnet and Anderson. Reale's Pizza http://www.realespizzaandcafe.com/ Threadgill's http://www.threadgills.com/ Taqueria Arandina's has 6 or 7 locations and have the best migas ever.
