She told me that after my dad was born and they moved here from Japan my grandpa (US soldier) had to go to the Korean war. She and my dad stayed with my grandpa's sister for like 3 years. In Alabama no less. She didnt know anybody or speak English hardly at all. The same thing would happen again when she had 2 more kids and my grandpa had to go to Vietnam, only she had to hold down their own household. The only thing she worried about was him getting killed. Avancier2 Posted March 15, 2008 Share Posted March 15, 2008 i heard somewhere that characteristics/behaviors skip a generation. parents suck dicks but my grandparents were the best peoples on earth. i loved them more then anything .. what i regret most in life is how i avoided them as they were dying (all my grandparents managed to get cancer within months of themselves), probably never gonna move past that A lot of people do this.
