I had braced myself for the final act/ending, so I was able to take it in stride, but I can see why it's pissed a ton of people off. I think it works, took a huge amount of balls to make a decision to stick to the book and send the movie in that direction, but I'm not fully convinced it was the most effective way to pull it off. LICKERISH Posted December 17, 2007 Share Posted December 17, 2007 Maybe thats what killed it for me too. You got all this build up, start thinking the shit is going to get real good and hit the fan. Then everything changes in the way you don't want it to, like someone came along and changed the climax, in a pussy way. I thought the movie was going in a different direction, like the normal Hollywood crazy climax build up scenes, and it all changed and became something completely different that was not predictable at all. The movie had so much potential, and the first 1 to 1.5hr was godlike. Then it all comes apart like Britney Spears' career. the characters had very little connection to each other. the primary guy in the movie, the vietnam vet, had such a good story building around him only to fucking off him without showing any details and how many anonymous mexicans can they possibly put in the movie? oh come on. you should have just paid more attention.
