LICKERISH
just got back. thought it was awesome. wasn't a huge fan of the lois they chose, but the superman choice was pretty good. was that Cyclops from Xmen as Lois' fling? would of liked to have seen more superman ass kicking, but i'm pretty psyched about this movie right now. Weapon X
Yeah, that was Marsden playing Richard. And that Lois could have been better, but whatever.
26SidedCube
I'm sorry but this movie was straight poopdick. There's no way in fuck I'd pay IMAX prices to get shit on in 3D. He shot some shit out of his eyes a couple of times, caught a plane, directed a spaceship into orbit, nabbed a falling sign, five people and a big metal globe. Then he took some bullets. And picked up a car and then a giant crystal island. All in all it was 2+ hours of movie with 20 minutes of 'action', an hour of 'saga'/boring ass 'plot' and 40 minutes of twirly, gentle take-offs and landings. As far as superhero movies go, this shit was wack beyond words. I was more impressed with the first 8 minutes of the first X-Men.
Smart
I was gonna go to this last thursday with homie but then we both heard it sucked and before we could really say anything but 'fuck it' the phone rang and they were delivering his Simpson's pinball machine, the Golden Tee machine comes this week too! Anyway, we both agreed that we dodged a bullet and this movie rides the cockhorse.
RumPuncher
seing as I started the thread.... here's a mini review (no spoilers) first thing... IMAX 3D. If you get a chance to see the flick in 3D, it's worth the extra bucks. They only do a few scenes but they are all done really well. The 'airplane resuce' and the 'sea rescue' are both really quality scenes and they work well in 3D. yeah.... I love gimmics in movies, so I'll just leave it at that. for the actual movie.... The movie is amazing. Simple. Some people will complain that there isn't a lot of action compared to some flicks like xmen or batman begins, but real movie fans will know that it's the moments without action that really make the plot worthwhile. Lois was an interesting casting choice, but not a bad one. Asides from her everyone was perfectly cast, even the little mopheadded kid who played Lois's kid. Generally I hate kid actors, like Dakota, but this kid really did what he had to do. He had great direction. Speaking of.... Bryam Singer did an amazing job with the subtle bits of character that the movie needed. And can I just say one thing..... Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor Plus on top of it all, they manage to add more to the superman story without cheapening what was already laid out for us. It's a lot like vampire movies... they have to add something new to the whole genre to be a well recieved movie (like underworld). Superheros are the same way. You need to add to the legend, and this flick does that. for the people who've seen it... I'm so glad they didn't cheap out and have the 'person who might have..... the grand piano' save the day.
