Seffiks
can anyone tell me how to get a picture in the "extended network" box on myspace? Replace Your Extended Network With a Picture. 1. First find the image you want to replace your Extended Network space with. 2. Upload your picture to tinypic.com or photobucket.com. (Or any other image host) 3. In the code below, replace URL HERE with the URL to the image. (How to get the image url) 4. Replace the # sign in width:#px; with the width of the banner. (How to get the width) 5. Finally, replace the # sign in height:#px; (How to get the height) 6. Copy and Paste code anywhere in your edit profile section. <style type="text/css"> table table table td {vertical-align:top ! important;} span.blacktext12 { background-color:transparent; background-image:url('URL HERE '); background-position:center center; font-size:0px; letter-spacing:-0.5px; width:#px; height:#px; display:block; } span.blacktext12 img {display:none;} </style> You can replace where it says REPEAT STYLE with: no-repeat = doesn't repeat repeat-x = repeats horizontally repeat-y = repeats vertically repeat = tiles (repeats x and y)

Pistol
just wondering how often do you encounter bad/defective RAM? I bought 4GB (2x2GB) of crucial RAM from Fry's today. Put the 2 in and couldn't get the computer to start, not even in safe mode. Put 1x2GB and 1x512 and it worked fine. Put the other 1x2GB and 1x512 and got the same screen error and couldnt start. So im assuming the one RAM was bad. So i'm gonna go exchange it tomarrow. But was just wondering how often memory is defective, because I remember one other time installing it in my dads comp it was fucked too. Seffiks
its very sensitive ( i will be surprised if frys takes it back) because you prolly fryed it do to ESD electrostatic discharge its not that common if you know how to handle it i have only had issues with a few defective RAM chips do to ESD or bending them by pressing them into the slot to hard
Pistol
fuck!! i took it back and got an even exchange. brought it back home. slipped on the anti-static gloves. threw the 2x2GB in the computer and same thing. blue screen error. PFN_LIST_CORRUPT *** STOP : 0x0000004E 0x0000008D 0x000835501 0x00000000 0x00000000 I checked online and they mentioned it could be corrupt memory or a possible driver issue. They recommended verifier.exe so im in the process of doing that. (gotta reboot now) So im thinking it has to be my computer NOT the memory being corrupt. That being said this is turning out to be a pain in the ass. Would buying different/better memory (new RAM is crucial) be a easy way to do it rather than try debugging and all that confusing shit. Fuck it i think ima go back to 1GB throwback status.
Seph
Could this be a motherboard issue?
Pistol
not sure. because when i can run 2x512 fine. i can also run 1x2GB + 1x512 and it works fine. but as soon as i use 2x2GB im fucked. also when i booted up with the 2x2GB in the machine and went into the BIOS it showed it recognized both 2GB slots for a total of 4GB. idk? Seph
How old is it? I know for a fact that certain motherboards can only support a certain amount of gigs on one slot.. check your manufactures page, and search for the model, you should be able to find out the capacity.. you can also check out this program called EVEREST if you have trouble finding out the model
Pistol
it's a gateway ML6720 notebook. October 07. I think i found the answer. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=206829 same problem. able to run 2GB +512 but not 2x2GB. the 32bit OS can't handle 4GB but the 64 bit can. hmm. Seph
Oh yeah, but wait.. are you running vista? i was reading this not too ago... says there the 32 should handle 4Gbs http://support.teloep.org/vistaver.htm im running 32 as well but I currently run with 2GBs
Seffiks
pistol 4 GB will not work unless you got x64 and only then it will read 3 GB most of the time e maximum amount of memory that your system can use is actually limited in two ways — not only is there a maximum amount of memory that your computer motherboard can accept, there is also a maximum amount of memory that your operating system (OS) can accept. For instance, when you install 4GB of memory in a 32-bit Windows system (the most common version; 64-bit systems are typically used only by high-end users), your system will see (and utilize) only 3GB or 3.5GB. Is the problem bad memory? Relax, there isn't a problem with the memory. Windows allows for 4GB of memory to be addressed, but this isn't 100 percent the same as having 4GB of physical memory. What happens is that some of the addressable memory (regardless of how much you have physically installed) is reserved for use by page files or by some of the devices that you are using, such as a graphics card, PCI card, integrated network connections, etc., so it's unavailable for use as normal main memory. The amount of memory needed for these devices is calculated by your system at startup; if you haven't maxed out the memory in your system, it's invisible to you, and all your physical memory (the RAM that's installed) is available for use. However if you've maxed out the DRAM in your system, this amount will be deducted from your physical memory, so you can't use 100% of your DRAM. The maximum memory limitation varies by operating system; for instance, the 4GB memory limitation doesn't exist in 64-bit versions of Windows. Memory maximums for current Microsoft® Windows OSs include: Windows XP Home: 4GB Windows XP Professional: 4GB Windows XP 32-bit: 4GB Windows XP 64-bit: 128GB Windows Vista Home Basic: 4GB Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit: 8GB Windows Vista Home Premium: 4GB Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit: 16GB Windows Vista Ultimate: 4GB Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit: 128GB+ Windows Vista 32-bit: 4GB Windows Vista 64-bit: 128GB+
Pistol
so i should in theory be able to have 4 GB of RAM in my comp even though my comp will only recognize 3GB? still not sure why i would be getting the blue screen and PFN error and not being able to boot up? like i said im probably gonna just replace it and get 2 or 3 gigs. it's not like i need the extra juice for video editing etc. just thought it would be good to have and 80.00 seemed like a good deal for 4GB. oh well. I have the most recent version of Flash installed: 9,0,115,0. But it's still not working. I'm clueless where to start or what to do. Help, por favor.
