question. when it comes to burning an OS to a disk, can i just make a data disk or do i need to burn as an image?

it should come as an .iso, right click and open with nero.

burn at a lower speed 12x should be fine.

i just added a partition using partition magic. took all of 30 minutes. now i'm going to load win2k on the second so i can use the crappy mccrapson 3d stuff. dammit.

all of a sudden my dvd drive and all of my virtual drives stopped showing up when i open My Computer.

i get this when i run the add hardware thingy:

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware.
The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

so im going to reinstall the drivers.

and for the virtual drives, just uninstall and reinstall daemon tools?

wait a second. i knew that shit was too short. it just replaced regular xp. i read about it and the internets told me reformatting happens automatically when you reinstall the os.

nooooo...did you replace it with tiny xp platinum? that will definitely reformat your drive before installing. unless you chose to install it to some other directory.

as for the scrolling, you need your video drivers.

let seffiks or i know if you need a step by step.

we both know this shit off the top of our heads.

read over that. yeah, you can uninstall and then reboot. should pick up on it at reboot.

worked like a charm! the dvd drive is up and running. something must have been deleted when i cleaned up the registry with tuneup.

i also deleted daemon tools, but when i try and reinstall it, it says theres an "internal setup error". wtf?

so i re-installed tinyxp, only this time i chose "delete c: partition"

it seemed off but it was the only option i could find that was similar to reformat.

so now im re-downloading partition magic to try and get that shit back.

that's what ya do, and then you make a new partition via that same blue screen.

NTFS, no the quick format. the other.

then you let the install begin.

so what you're saying is i should reinstall and then make a new partition via that screen? or since im up and running already can i use partition magic?

oh, no. i meant that during that whole install process, that's what you do.

you can do it via partition magic.

it's all good.

so opera came with tinyxp and i must say other than it saying it is going to remember my information, such as handle/pw's, and then not, i like it more than firefox.

plus im sure i just need to go into settings and change some stuff.

only thing it seems to not have that firefox did is the auto-spell check thing. but im sure they'll bust out with that pretty soon here.
