If you're gonna throw it out, you might as well put the thing to use, no? Anyone who's snorkeled or scuba dived on a wreck should know how life flourishes around it... it's no different with artificial reefs. Besides its life-attracting qualities, artificial reefs help control tidal movements that might endanger sensitive shoreside ecosystems like mangroves, and help stabilize swimmer-friendly beaches.
