Man, I was on the phone with my dad when I learned, I guess he already knew but we had a little moment of silence and a quick tribute, mentioning June Carter Cash, who died earlier this year, Maybell Carter and Rodney Crowell, who was married to Rosanne Cash, but isn't dead. Rodney has a song about going hunting with his father and uncle back around '54 and it was the first time he heard Johnny Cash sing 'I Walk the Line'...

Well John, I guess we'll jam in heaven... in fact, since Unchained is in the box I'm gonna listen to Meet Me in Heaven, Spiritual and Unchained REALLY LOUD.

:king:

Ten years ago,on a cold dark night

Someone was killed ,neath the town hall light

There were few at the scene, but the all agreed

That the slayer who ran, looked a lot like me

The judge said son what is your alibi

If you were somewhere else.then you won't have to die

I spoke not a word, thou it met my life

For I'd been in the arms of my best friends wife

Chorus

She walks these hill.in a long black veil

She visits my grave.when the night winds wail

Nobody knows,nobody sees

Nobody knows but me

Oh the scaffold is high and eternity's near

She stood in the crowd and shed not a tear

But late at night, when the north wind blows

In a long black veil, she cries o're my bones

Rest in peace man.

Cash is a huge influence in my life.

He sang about America the way it really was.
