Tyler Durden Posted May 6, 2003 Share Posted May 6, 2003 http://www.fake-up.net/img/Harbor.jpg'> http://www.fake-up.net/img/Lauren3.jpg'> these are possibly the only two shots i've ever taken that i thorougly enjoy. i really hate everything else i produce. but that goes for everything i do really...i posted them before so sorry for being repetitive as fuck. bump. as far as photography goes, i was sitting in my photo history class and my professor was just going on and on about such and such being influenced by whoever. i dont know why, but it really really bothers me for some odd reason. its just like people are revamping old styles and not trying to do anything thats actually deserving of merit for originality. i mean...i dont consider myself to be some groundbreaking person by ANY means...but alot of photography (and art in general i guess...) is just the same crap over and over again. talking about how so and so used to work in whoevers studio and basically carried on their work later. but why does the person merely carrying on the work receive what i'd call a good amount of credit when all theyre doing is copying and reproducing? if anyone would like to discuss this itd be pretty cool, as far as if you think art (photography in particular...) has merely become repetition and revamping or who some people are that are going into new and solid ground and doing something great. go nuts.
