  1. This thread could benefit from Kabar's most recent post in the hobo thread.
  2. Yet you deliberately disregarded the post he quoted for context so that you could take his statement out of context and read your own tired narrative into it.
  3. Your persona sucks. It's hard to want to give you constructive criticism.
  4. I've had technical issues w/ Bombing Science since the day I joined, barely use it at all as a result. That site has been on a steady downward spiral since about '06 though in my opinion, you could argue 12oz has been on a similar trend I guess. I think a lot of the graff picture scene has gone to instagram, most of the contributors I know just post their flicks there these days. There're pros and cons to that obviously, but in terms of a platform to share pictures it beats a forum in basically every way. Picture sharing forums of this variety are on their way out in my opinion, I don't think discussion forums are going anywhere though. I like 12oz, but it seems to me that whoever's in charge does not care about the forum. The growing child analogy is all well and good, but if he's not gonna "adopt it", he shouldn't be renting it out to increasingly more invasive advertisers for his own gain to the detriment of the user base. Yea the ads aren't all that bad, but add log in issues and minimal technical support to the mix and you're left w/ little incentive for new members to stick around after their first or second problem.
  5. I'd think it pretty obvious that my post was meant to piggy-back on Injury's comments regarding the ACA. What I find funny, is that you are inexplicably trying to link me to a position that I disagree w/ because I made a comment about a separate issue that, although ascribed to by those who hold said position, is rarely, if ever, articulated by the media in the manner in which I chose.
  6. Whatever helps you sleep at night. The post really has nothing to do w/, nor offers any opinion on, the shutdown though. No reason to read one side's position on a completely separate issue into my statements about Obamacare.
  7. Both sides are vigorously clouding the issue but my post had nothing to do w/ the shutdown.
  8. We've had debt ceiling issues since before 2008. Regardless of whether or not you support it, Obamacare is an outrageous expense for the country. I think if it were to stay around for 10 years in its exact form, people would be horrified by the unintended consequences. Were any of you alive when Medicaid was rolled out? Because I thought Medicaid was supposed to be the answer for all the people who will allegedly benefit from Obamacare. Let's say you go to the ER, you get a $1000 bill, you have Medicaid. Medicaid will pay roughly $350 of that bill and the hospital will write the rest off. For comparison, BCBS would probably pay around $600-650, others would pay closer to $750-850. The general consensus right now, because nobody actually knows, is that the ACA programs will be paying out less than Medicaid does. And just get ready for the way subrogation liens are going to be handled in the future, they're either going to go widely uncollected (not good for the insurers) or become much more stringent (not good for the insured).
  9. Yea I think you're onto something there. The guy who is good for nothing other than to tighten a bolt every 30 seconds on an assembly line is really getting sidelined by the development of more efficient means of production. Fact is, those people aren't going anywhere; there will always be an unemployable class. I don't have an answer for those people, but giving them more money for doing entry level work isn't the answer. Just like creating bullshit jobs for them, more and more of which are federal these days, isn't the answer. That's just a bandaid on a wound that desperately needs a tourniquet.
  10. Hard truth: people aren't supposed to live/support a family on minimum wage.
  11. Well not really, the legal argument presented uses evidence and must abide by the rules of evidence. The actual argument though is based on the law at issue. Evidence Part One: Any matter of fact that a party to a lawsuit offers to prove or disprove an issue in the case. Evidence Part Two:A system of rules and standards that is used to determine which facts may be admitted, and to what extent a judge or jury may consider those facts, as proof of a particular issue in a lawsuit.
  12. Man over 2k civil engineers and architects you say? Gee, I wonder what that stat really means. God knows DAO didn't even think to attempt to put that stat in context. In 1999, 2.8 million people earned an engineering degree, 1.3 million of those held engineering jobs and an additional 407k held engineering jobs w/o an engineering degree. Of that total, 297.2k were considered '"civil engineers" (http://www.nspe.org/resources/pdfs/blog/Abt-Report-on-Engineering-Profession2.pdf). So, let's see, your article boasts a whopping 2000 civil engineers that "all agree" with what you've been saying. In 1999, that would have meant that .006% of the qualified professionals dubbed civil engineers publicly agreed to "your" theory. I'd wager the number of civil engineers has gone up since then, making this stat even more worthless. Thread worthy? Thread worthy.
  13. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations/info for open fermentation? I've been homebrewing for a few years now but never tried open fermentation. My plan is to use old wine, cider, and bourbon barrels as the fermentation vessels. I'd actually like to do everything in the oak (mash, ferment, condition, and dry hop) and then add sugar/yeast to the bottles individually. Anyone ever tried anything like this?
  14. Breaking news: black people look alike, more on this developing story at 11.
  15. http://www.globalresearch.ca/did-the-white-house-help-plan-the-syrian-chemical-attack/5347542 Not exactly a conspiracy kook either: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yossef_Bodansky
  16. Tracking says Walid's book made it to GOGP. Updated: BUTTERS (SoCal)- waiting KWG (W MASS) - Butters, GOGP, Pulz, Azteka, AEROSOUL(MASS) - waiting PULZ(NY) - waiting SEX CAULDRON (MD) - waiting AZTEKA(NC) - waiting GOGP(NC) - Walid (assumed) WALID(AUS) - waiting
  17. Mailed Walid's book today, I'll pm the tracking number when I get home tonight.
  18. I got the address, if I can get away from work long enough it'll go out today, if not, tomorrow.
  19. That seems to be the general consensus from what I've read. The average person obviously does not die from being tased, it's unfortunate, but police can tase you for next to nothing. What are they even protesting? Kid ran and got tased, happens everyday, shame he died.
  20. If you're above the age of 16 your parents have really failed you miserably. Actual human garbage.
  21. Yea I think KWG actually got his book back a few weeks ago. We lost some books but since everyone put up a book it looks like everyone that's still in it will get a book back.
  22. Still waiting on GOGP to get back to me Walid. Got my book back yesterday though, filled with fire and about to fall apart, with a year plus on the road and in the hands of the usps I couldn't ask for anything better though.
  23. Really? It's still readily available by me at most of the better liquor stores. Road tripped up to Maine recently, hit up some good breweries and brews I don't get to have often. Coolest tour was probably Allagash just because you get to walk around the brewery and all that. However our tour guide actually made it a point to tell us that their brewery only release sold out an hour before we got there, he then later told us that they still had some but wouldn't be selling it for a few months  . Best brewery tour was Shipyard because they let you try everything, 12 beers or something ridiculous like that, as well as their house made sodas. Sam Adams, Harpoon, Maine Brewing co., etc... all were kinda cool but nothing to write home about. We did go to Maine Mead Works which was actually very interesting as I had certainly never seen Mead being made before. For some reason they also made it a point to tell us about their Special Reserve that they had just sold out of prior to our arrival. Other than that, stand out beers along the way included: Avery Odium Equum - barrel aged sour w/ Raspberries, expensive but very well balanced, would buy again in a heart beat if I could get it down here Panil Divina - barrel aged version, decent Italian sour, good use of funk w/o being overpowering Jack Abbey - had several of their lagers, all very good, some of the better lagers I've had Lost Abbey Red Poppy - usually not a fan of the sour cherry beers but this one was surprisingly drinkable and not overpowered by the cherry flavor, definitely a lot of acidity though Jolly Pumpkin Baudelaire - at less than 3 months old it was probably the freshest jp beer I've had, but man, the amount of carbonation in this bottle could have been used for an entire case of soda, ridiculously over carbonated to the point of barely being drinkable for the first 30-45 minutes, after that just the bitter taste of rose hips...not for me Not beer, but Down East Cider may just be the best hard cider I've ever had. It has the consistency of quality apple cider unlike 99% of hard cider. If you see it, give it a try.
