Benching with Schnitzel (Aussie freights)

Recommended Posts

Since I take so many pictures it makes sense to put out a few to the wider world.

All taken in Adelaide Australia at various locations.

A few of them are taken out my car window and I have to be discreet as you get huge fines for mobile phone use in the car so sorry if you can see window sills etc in there.

okay this rolled through as I was picking up my son from school. about 30 minutes ago.

some are absolute rubbish but my theory is that they are better than the one I don't have next to them....so I flick all of them

these are the SCT trains a private consortium that run trains between Melbourne Perth (via Adelaide) and Brisbane but curiously skip Sydney.

two years ago when I forst moved down you would see one panel on these in a train of 85 wagons. Now they are leathered and recently the security has been fully beefed up. In two years they might all be buffed

srsly...these are crushed. i had no idea what freights were like over there. nice posting.

Those are clean compared to the grain cars that run through to pick up wheat and grain from the farmlands north of here but they sit in a yard and security cap every single panel on them.

you can see a line of 50 cars go through and there will not be one  here the pieces are intact. it sucks

see below this is how your pieces end up if they see them.

consec is the security group

Damn theres some cool stuff in there. You guys get many west aus freights through ADL?

I know majority of ours are just CBH grain freights running the wheatbelt, or mining heading north ..

Recently moved just up the road from one of the larger freight layups over here, so I needa start learning what we've got coming and going haha

Most of these lines will to some degree end up in Perth

3:50 theres a wholecar by Woke from Sydney along with gong, scub and scribl

But I think it's a bit more east to west rather than west to east.

lots of freight from perth is double stacked but in adelaide hills there is one tunnel that messes it all up.

this vid shows how clean those sct trains were in 2017 think theres two/three pieces on whole line

Some cool stuff.  Wonder what would happen if someone did a piece with an intentional consec crossout fill, could they get it to run without the security figuring it out.

Seems like a long time between when the gates go down and when the train hits the crossing.  Do people tend to wait for the train or do you have impatient people who run through?

@One Man Banned  no cars but sometimes people do saw a kid nearly get squished which had me jumping like a frog on the train platform.

cars not really the boom gates come down pretty fast alot of crossings have cameras - try to drive round the boomgates and bang $400.00 fine

rubbish morning this morning

usually two down hill trains come through and then an uphill train goes through.

however this morning the downhill trains were evidently running way late so uphill train went. That means at 45 minutes till next train at earliest and I had to go to work.

This train is the "shit train" it's basically empty returning wagon to their depots and 90% has virtually nothing on it
