CALIgula
after we both wrote some things about our moms on the wall, we decided to walk some more... and remember the boat/car that I took pictures of from Picnic Day that was trying to shoot water at me?....well, that car was actually here as well...so I got some close up pics of it...I think this car is pretty cool... Wild Bill Tatoo...the car shoots water from these side holes... some information about the car..less than 200 are known to exist in this condition worldwide.... Wild Bill's Tattoo-a-thon benefiting charity... back of the car... another hole to shoot out water at parades... more..

CALIgula
At this point, we wanted to try one more strawberry themed dessert...and we still didn't know if we should get strawberry beignet or strawberry funnel cake, but since we were amongst 'murricans in 'murica and listening to 'murican country music and reading 'murican bumper stickers, we decided to get some 'murican fuckin funnel cakes because 'Murica!!...fuck yeah!...and fuck france!....sorry, got carried away...we got funnel cakes.. (before) so damn good.....best thing I ate all day....yum! at this point, my girlfriend was too full and tapped out... but I stayed persistent and kept my eyes on the prize!... (after) we did a ton of walking on Saturday...but im sure we put all the calories back on with all the stuff we ate that day. more... CALIgula
When we had first gotten to the event, there were these two teenage girls selling lemonade out of their lemonade stand. They were hustling like crazy....when we first walked in, they said that their lemonade is really good and its a good value and we should just buy it now so we dont have to come all the way back and get it before we go. They were really convincing and I don't think I have ever seen someone that young be such a good sales person. Just for the fact that we admired their hustling skills, we decided to stop and get a cup of lemonade from them before we left for the day. We got the blackberry lemonade and even tipped them a dollar... cute little stand I guess... and they made this for us... we both agreed.... worst lemonade we have ever had in our lives!...but you gotta love the hustle! All day long we did a lot of walking...I clocked in 8,450 steps for the day. Hope you guys are enjoying the thread so far...I will be back tomorrow or the day after to post more pics of Sunday's festival....stay tuned!

CALIgula
That lemonade LOOKS like it's good  it does LOOK good but it wasnt sweet at all, had a weird after taste and worst of all, it was gritty...they used really blackberries and if you look closely at that last flick, you can see seeds at the bottom and little black flakes throughout the lemonade...yuck. great thread.. Coincedentaly i recently tried to make a strawberry lemonade myself and it was not good. Probably needed more sugar don't know when i'll try it again. sugar solves everything! lol
CALIgula
So the next day, Sunday the 10th (Mother's day), me and my girlfriend both spent the morning with our moms (I took my mom out for brunch), and we had plans to meet up and go to the next festival by 2:00pm. This time we went to the 46th annual Whole Earth Festival back on the UC Davis campus in Davis, CA. My girlfriend called me and asked me if her little brother (23 years old) could tag along with us....i said sure, no problem...but I did warn her that the crowd might not be his type of people...thats because the Whole Earth Festival is kind of like a mini Woodstock with hippies, tie dye, weed, drum circles, etc. She told me she would tell him that and she called me back and said he wanted to get out of town and was down to roll, so we rolled out. If you don't remember from the Picnic Day Festival, then I will post the map again.....Davis is only 15 miles away from Sacramento... We got there right at 2:00pm, parked and walked to the event... here was the poster for this year's Whole Earth Festival... (you might remember "Butterscotch" ...she was on America's Got Talent...i think the first or second season and got pretty far in the competition) more.. CALIgula
So we're walking to the festival and we see this sign....whole earth festival karma patrol... karma patrol are people who basically go around and enforce the set of rules shown on this next sign we saw... walking up to the event, we saw this chick carrying a hula hoop with her butt cheeks hanging out...she kept pulling her shorts out, but they kept riding back up into her ass... literally, the first booth we see at the event is some guy trying to get signatures to legalize weed...i honestly thought that California would've had it done before Colorado and Washington...i think it will eventually happen here too... more..
CALIgula
they promote the Whole Earth Festival as a zero waste event, and actually have people that take the time after the event to go through the trash and separate it out and dispose of it properly...i once read somewhere that only 5% of all trash from the Whole Earth Festival makes it to a landfill... they have signs everywhere telling people how to dispose of trash at the event...compost in the yellow bin, and recyclables in the blue bin... here are some random dome/tent things that they had set up... kind of creepy, so I stayed away... its a two day event...im pretty sure the hippies have sex in them at night...lol...jk I have been to this event a few times in the past and always get a kick out of the people that show up...but its good times. this year though seemed to be a lot more crowded than the past years ive been.... a lot more vendors too....which I don't know if its a good thing or bad...the festival originally was to celebrate peace, love, music, etc etc...after all, it started in 1969...but now its about a bunch of vendors trying to make a buck off of selling tie dye shirts, bonzai plants, henna tattoos, vegan food, etc.... random guy juggling.... lol. more.. CALIgula
so, when we first got there, my girlfriend and her brother were thirsty and the first thing we did was find some cool refreshing drinks to cool off...her brother bought some random slushie and me and my girlfriend shared a slushie... here was the booth..."organic" "made-to-order".... some of the flavors they offered... now, I dont really care if my frozen lemonade is organic or not...hell, I dont even care if it's made with high fructose corn syrup...just as long as it tastes good....because the day before, we had some shitty blackberry lemonade...lol... so my girlfriend got a frozen lemonade... ....and it was delicious!! (notice, even the cups theyre served in are "green"...lol) but I am glad we finally got some good lemonade!..organic or not.. more..
CALIgula
apparently, the Whole Earth Festival is a "vegan only" event. I love meat (/no homo) and chicken and pork...and every year I complain about lack of meat in the food...but this year, my girlfriend brought up a good point...maybe they dont want to mix the meat products accidentally with all their vegan food...makes sense...but its still kind of weird to see the banners of all these food booths that usually sell meat at other events having to put duct tape over the meat items to hide them from view... anyways...i took some flicks of the booths to show what type of food they sell here at this festival... the chick peas booth... the mexican food booth...veggie burritos, tacos, and nachos... portobello mushroom instead of a burger pattie, veggie burger...pupusas...vegetarian indian food...asparagus/pesto gyro... this booth actually looked good...fat face popsicles... (but still being full from brunch, I chose not to partake) maybe next time though...some of the flavors looked good! including the mango+sticky rice, strawberry lemonade, tangelo mango, root beer float, and strawberry coconut. more.. CALIgula
we walked around the event a bit more to take in the sites and see what the other side of the event had for food for later on... as we were walking, we saw all these people hoola hooping... this event was the exact opposite of the previous day's strawberry festival...strawberry festival was all right wing conservatives...the whole earth festival was all left wing liberals...i fall in the middle, so I can go to both...haha... more people and food vendors...notice the random guy with no shirt and red suspenders?...I found that a little odd... more food booths... more foods without any meat....(hippies sure do love their garlic fries)... Some interesting food items at this booth... more...
CALIgula
like i said before, there were a lot of vendors selling a lot of random things...things made from wood, crafts, bonsai trees, even things things made from scrap metal...which I thought were pretty cool....here are some of those... then there was this... and this... and this... and can't forget about this.... more...

CALIgula
we walked around a little bit more and saw this drum circle drumming...i think the guy all the way to the right standing up was beatboxing...lol...jk...he was blowing his nose...allergies...serious problem... don't know if this quote is actually true, but if so, thats pretty cool... jungle gym built for the kids to play on.... zumba jam session... more.. CALIgula
after laying out a bit in the shade, we decided it was time to finally eat. vegan it is! (cause thats all the food that was out there!) me and my girlfriend decided to get the pesto garlic fries and the pad thai with peanut sauce... the pad thai was just ok in my book...tofu, broccoli, carrots, onions, celery, cabbage, zucchini, noodles, peanut sauce, etc.....with an egg roll on the side....my girl took two bites and was hella over it....but we both agreed that the pesto garlic fries were on point.... after eating, we did some more walking around, and saw this guy walking...lol...i dont know why this guy was dressed like a caveman... heard some pretty good music coming from this tent.... got closer...lead singer sounded like c-lo green... apparently the band is called "the dirt feelin" here are a couple of blurry pics of them performing.... more.. CALIgula
after they passed, me and my girlfriend played some catch in the grass...her brother wanted to play catch too, but he didnt have a glove, so he played without a glove...here are our gloves... somehow the Brazilians circled the entire event and ended up right in the middle of where we were playing catch (booooooo!) hostile takeover... parting shot....bye whole earth festival!!! walking back to our car... fucking 4! and a house with a chicken coop built on the side of it.... stay weird Davis..stay weird. stay thirsty my friends. all in all, another fun day....clocked in at about 10,400 steps for the day! hope you guys enjoyed the festivals so far....there are PLENTY more to come, but because of a lack of comments and support I am kind of hesitant to continue this thread....let me know if I should give up on this thread or keep posting.
