Bojangles
My girl just got a Chinese Ipod knockoff, Conet brand. i installed the software and as soon as I did my virus scanner (Antivir) started going crazy and saying I had all these viruses ranging from trojans to worms. Is it just freaking out from foreign software or did this thing come riddled with viruses?

potholder
http://thepcyoubuy.com/vol2xp.htm see if there's a separate volume control for them there, that's a starting point.
RELAPSER
I'm pretty sure its the port itself, it either isnt functioning or it might not be enabled, but i'm not sure how to test it.

Bojangles
Okay I did a system restore and things seem good again except now when I start up, a small dialog box appears that says something like "unable to load feature control program". I click ok and everything seems fine. Any clue as to what that is now?

mindvapors
Ok, so i go to view a gif on vista and it opens in IE. I'm like, LAME so i change it to open with Vista's Photo Gallery thing but now it doesn't animate, what gives? Is the Photo Gallery the Vista equivalent of XP's Picture and Fax Viewer. I'm like, LAME so i change it to open with Vista's Photo Gallery thing but now it doesn't animate, what gives? Is the Photo Gallery the Vista equivalent of XP's Picture and Fax Viewer. The picture viewer in Windows Vista, renamed Windows Photo Gallery Viewer, is completely rewritten and is based on Windows Photo Gallery which uses the Windows Imaging Component (WIC). Since the Windows Imaging Component is extensible, Windows Photo Gallery and Windows Photo Gallery Viewer can organize and view any image format for which a third party codec is installed. By default, the Windows Photo Gallery Viewer can view JPEG, BMP, PNG, TIFF and HD Photo images, as well as video. RAW image formats used by high-end professional cameras are also supported by installing their respective codecs in WIC. The viewer also supports lossless rotation of images and ICC V4 embedded color profiles. However, legacy image formats such as WMF and EMF do not have their respective codecs available in WIC, and therefore cannot be viewed by default.
