Guest R@ndomH3ro
just opening IE makes it freeze.... way before tryin to connect to anything... its a problem with the IE i just have no idea what or how to fix it.... firefox runs fine.. everything else on it runs perfectly.... its just the IE has something fucked up about it..... if it was anything else im sure uninstall and reinstall would fix it, but i dont think thats a good idea here..... Sounds like a job for your local Tech Support. IE may be configured wrong.
Seffiks
1. Go to Start>> All Programs>> System Tools 2. Click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) restart Internet Explorer if it runs smoothly, then it can be determined that one of the add-ons was causing the problem. You will need to continue troubleshooting this issue until you find out which add-on was causing the problem. You will need to do this using the Manage Add-ons feature. Note: You will need to reverse the above steps to place Internet Explorer 7 back in regular mode for troubleshooting purposes. 1. Start Internet Explorer 7 2. Go to Tools>> Programs tab>> Manage Add-ons button 3. Under the option "Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer", you will see a list of all of the add-ons installed on yer system. 4. Click the name of an enabled add-on and then click Disable under the Settings option.

Seffiks
if you got regular people working on computers ANYTHING can happen so do not take nothing to chance (thats 1 thing you have to learn real fast)
Seffiks
another possible cause could be that when you upgraded, IE7 changed a Internet connections setting that you previously had in IE6 and it is not connecting correctly try this 1. Open IE7>> Tools>> Internet Options 2. Click the Connections tab 3. Click to highlight the first entry under Dialup and Virtual Private Networks settings, then click the Settings button. 4. Place a checkmark in the Automatically detect settings checkbox, then click OK. 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for all listed Dialup and Virtual Private Networks 6. With the Connections tab still selected, click the LAN Settings button. 7. Place a checkmark in the Automatically detect settings checkbox, then click OK. 8. Close IE7 and restart the browser. Torquemada
i try to reset my modem through the browser but after i get into the settings and stuff it asks me to put in the modem access number or something that's located on the bottom of the modem, and so i put it in, click reset, but it says the numbers are incorrect when they aren't. is this because the modem isn't connected directly to my mac with the ethernet cable? HydrogenPeroxide
oh, heres a question, although i think i already know the answer... my roommates laptop runs super slow. exact same as mine. got rid of her shit virus/spyware software, got avg, spybot, and comodo. ran avg and spybot in safe mode. just the usual porn cookies in spybot, nothing in avg. ran tuneup a bunch of times, and turned off all non essential programs at startup... thats the basic stuff that fixes most slow problems, i've found. i told her to defrag a bunch of times and i'm going to run hijackthis when i get a chance. what else should i try? edit: forgot to mention she has a million quicklaunch buttons going. that wouldnt be it would it? Mauler5150
I rebooted and the problem seems to be fixed. The button was there, but they were unclickable, and didn't highlight when I moved my pointer over them. I used those tags for the last pic I posted, but I am just slack, haha.
