Just cause the Goddess is associated with fertility and sex does not make her evil. Sex is not evil its natural, the love of sex is evil, just like the love of money is. You might know the word divine came from the Sandskrit word devi which means goddess. Christainity is so anti female they changed the word devi into the Devil a title for Satan. So many religions have deprived women of a suitable role in society, this is done to make women look 2nd class & inferior to help promote the idea of a male god and male Superiority. The eye of providence the symbol of the Masons is 2 symbols in 1 and is code for the Hexagram, the triangle is a symbol for the male god & the 3rd eye/1 eye is a old symbol for the Goddess. The Hexagram when broken apart is 2 triangles, 1 represents man and the inverted 1 represents female but together they make the 6 pointed star the symbol for the male god. Leonardo Da Vinci who was also a Free Mason painted the inverted triangle/ the "V" shape in his last supper painting. (*stuff that may help in developing your style further as well darkeist, but for anyone it helps...) PROPORTIONS - the width of your letters is important. if it goes from fat to skinny.. why? if all of your bars are even, and the bend of one is too thick or skinny, it will throw the whole sketch off... and if you have a flat F at the start of a sketch and go to a round or cooked R at the end, for example, it can throw it off... NEGATIVE SPACE - the space in your sketch that is not letters/etc... if you have a huge gap in between the first and second letters of a five letter name, and the last three letters have very smal gaps/no gaps, this will make a sketch look weird... you can also use negative space sometimes as well to form letters, shapes, add-ons, etc... but keep it sensible and dont over-use it... ADD-ONS - add ons suck. people who do this transform letters into unique shapes... use the letters to form your sketches as much as you can... add ons can obviously be good but only as an extension of the letters and/or if they compliment the negative space in between the letters... PATIENCE - when sketching, take a second to look at the initial outline and think, 'does this makes sense? is it proportional, or should i make this end different?'.. i probably should take more time than i do.. but dont rush an idea. do a quick outline, look, adjust pieces/add stuff... and then go over it darker or re-do it or whatever... but dont settle for trash from yourself... sorry for the book... and a flaker from the toy battle thread from earlier for the talk... As you progress you realise that orientation of your letters is important too, not just shape. (look at CAN2) I still have a fuck of a long way to go but its good to keep these things in mind.
