That sounds about right. Too bad I just got home from the library...

I came out with several books in this thread and the other:

Heart of Darkness - Joseph Conrad

Beneath the Wheel - Hermann Hesse

Gertrude - Hesse

Edible Woman - Margaret Atwood

Life Before Man - Atwood

Skin Deep - Diana Wagman (found this while looking for something else... looked weird and interesting)

Anne Sexton: A Biography

All due back in a month... Hopefully I can get them all read by then...

After years of taunting my nerd friends,

I finally broke down and read Ender's Game

I just finished it thi9s morning and I have to say

I totally understand why the nerds (sci-fi fans in the 80's)

went so apeshit over it. It's really a great start to a series I might just continue.

anyone else ever read it?

Haven't read Ender's Game, but I just finished reading this trilogy:

Neuromancer

Count Zero

Mona Lisa Overdrive

All of them were original paperback pressings owned by my father (I'm a big ol' nerd). Neuromancer was the book that coined the term "cyberspace" back in 1984 (or maybe 86, can't remember). The three books are sort of unofficially a trilogy, but in order to get the full story you have to read em all. Anyone else read these?

For some reason I picked up Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six at work. Now I'm like halfway through it. I never thought I'd read a Tom Clancy novel, but it's actually quite an enjoyable read.

I'm also reading the Bielski Brothers by Peter Duffy. It's a non-fiction book about three Belarussian brothers who helped a save thousands of Jews during World War II......

Ah, finally! I’ve been looking for someone’s input on the Rainbow Six series. I don’t know why there is a stigma around Tom Clancy for some people. I’ve read a few of his books and was never disappointed. So R6 is good, huh? I’m gonna have to check it out, eventually. Is there only one book, or more?
