Linear Caballero was stabbed at about 6 p.m. after he and another man argued at the intersection of Western and Armitage avenues, officials said. Police are questioning a man in connection with the stabbing, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez. Caballero was in his girlfriend's car at the intersection when he began arguing with another man who tried to drag him out of the car, police said. The two struggled before Caballero was stabbed and his girlfriend drove him to St. Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, police said. He was transferred to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County by the Chicago Fire Department. Caballero was pronounced dead at 7:01 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived about two blocks from where he was stabbed, on the 2600 block of Armitage Avenue. Caballero was a graffiti writer who loved to roam the streets of Chicago leaving his mark on buildings, said Ramon Ureste, who was Caballero's adopted grandfather. He said he last saw his grandson around 5 p.m. as he and his girlfriend were getting ready to go out for the evening. He said he had heard that when Caballero and his girlfriend were in the car, a man with a duffel bag walked over to the car Caballero was in, pulled out a knife and dragged Caballero out. Ureste said the same man, who is a fellow graffiti writer, had come by the house Friday and threatened Caballero with a knife, though Caballero didn't take the threat seriously. Police could not comment on Ureste's allegations. He said Caballero had a lot of friends, many of them graffiti writers, and Caballero organized outings for them. The man played guitar in a band but did not have a permanent job and didn't go to school. "He looked at (life) like it was a good time," Ureste said.

CHICAGO - The Chicago Police Marine Unit pulled a man from the Chicago River Tuesday night. The man was later pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital, a hospital spokesperson said. Divers in the rive near 28th & Ashland Avenue found the man shortly before 8 p. m. The person was reportedly fleeing police at the time he went into the water. "Reported Tagger" Damn, Another loss.
