  1. I'd never use any EV for a tow right now, from what I hear although it will work, the strain on the battery, increased need to cycle from 100% to very low is too much. Def highly recommend the 2 inch receiver though for bike/ski rack attachments. Roof racks suck.
  2. Probably the most comprehensive review of the Model 3, good criticisms and praises after 1 year of ownership.
  3. Growing your own gets you lifetime platinum membership.
  4. No problem, I'm constantly telling people they need one so I'm glad someone out there is smart enough to want one. I've tried several of the amazon "highly rated" dash cams leading up to getting the transcend and this was the first one there wasn't major issues with. Protip: On my last 3 vehicles I took one of those 12v cigarette lighter to USB plugs apart and rigged it to a constant (ignition on) power source for the dome light above the sunglass holder/dome light console on the ceiling. Hid it behind the console and plugged a usb cord, and ran it out of the front of the headliner above the rear view mirror. Nothing is worse than a dangling cord running up from your lighter lighter socket, or risking fucking up your windshield, or side impact airbags by trying to tuck a wire behind the A pillar so it doesn't keep popping back out. They sell them like this so you really don't have to rig it up too much by taking apart the cigarette lighter now: Bonus Tip: Also because you're in Texas I'd skip trying out the suction cup mount. My mom's kept falling off because of the extreme heat/sunlight in Las Vegas. Truth be told mine would even fall off here sometimes in August with extreeme heat. So when I was there last week I mounted her trancend drive pro to her rear view mirror using some cheap parts from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Anumit-Universal-Mirror-KDLINKS-Cameras/dp/B07FTRRPTJ?ref_=ast_bbp_dp
  5. Not where he live's, they've probably have a total range on a full charge of 1/4 mile during the long winters up there.
  6. I've been driving around in NYC traffic 5+ hours a day for years and don't drive without a dashcam. With that said, I'm a fan of the Transcend models because of the wifi and phone apps. I started out using gopro's but they have a tendancy to be unreliable due to you having to manually turn on/off every time, plus they tend to overheat if you power via USB more than 1/2 an hour which makes using batteries, or an older Hero 4 with aftermarket battery bypass option more reliable. Plus, I wouldn't leave a gopro as visible bait for a window smasher. Had a dash cam save my ass more than once, still have some of the footage. Good stories considering how NYC is full of scumbags that are incapable of telling the truth, but unfortunately got a meeting I need to get to. I'll see if I can dig some footage up later.
  7. Again, not really into working on/moddding cars myself but understand this. They really can't be modded effectively (yet). I'm more into off road capabilities these days anyway where power vs weight is key.
  8. 1/4 mile is hands down the most important race in terms of real street racing, and actually winning is more important than having the ability to come in 2nd place 30 times in a row before refueling. I mean yea, you might better of in a Koegnigsegg, Bughatti or something expensive from Italy on a track like Le Mans for now, but I'd still rather do laps in a P100D than in most American muscle cars (minus a ZR1). Once Tesla actually enters the supercar class in 2020 (probably 2022) it's game over on the streets. Gas cars had a head start of 100+ years, and started got once Tesla released it's first performance sedan. I'd say that's a pretty impressive start, and a clear sign of a major technological shift that's about to take place once these EV's are out of their infancy. Probably why car enthusiasts over 30 get so emotional, and spit so much hate.
  9. I guess, but you're looking for minor excuses to support your opinion, while ignoring the big picture. Having a huge range isn't important for 90% of drivers out there, granted neither is looking over at a hellcat and knowing you'll smoke it off the line. In the context of racing it's all about the W, how many people say OK best 4 out of 7 after getting their ass handed to them thrice in a row?
  10. Granted, personal taste is personal taste, but with that said I'd still rather rock a base configuration Model 3, over a modded civic hatchback with a 7 second 1/4 mile which is the fastest car I had the opportunity to ride in. Granted, I'm not into fast cars, more of an SUV type of dude, fastest thing I owned was a modded VW Corrado (G ladder) back in Denver. The only mods I've seen for Teslas are stripping the interior out, for a few fractions of a second advantage which I thought was stupid AF.
  11. That was 3 in a row. I'm guessing that's the max number of times based on several youtube rabbit holes on this subject.
  12. Kids here go crazy with gas dirtbikes already, police rarely give chase. A lot of these kids while ride wheelie past NYPD like they don't even exist with just 110cc's Still would prefer an electric supermoto if I robbed a bank or something.
  13. I don't consider any of these as "production vehicles", if we're considering vehicles this rare, the 2020 roadsters out there already murder all of them. Will admit the Challenger Demon is arguably close though, have a feeling Tesla wasn't included due to the usual bias.
  14. A hellcat doesn't have the torque to beat a P100D in the 1/4 mile. P100D no joke, combined both motors put out 700+ HP, all of it with far more torque off the line.
  15. The ones that are good off road seem like they'd be the most tactical for police evasion considering they're silent, and have less of a heat signature for a helicopters FLIR camera. Kinda bummed Alta is no more
