i work in a pub, so i hardly ever get to go anywhere apart from the place i work.
oh well...
-i get free booze / food.
-we have the nicest pool table (lovingly looked after by yours truely)
-comfotrable as fuck chesterfield sofa's.
-kitchen staff who know how to cook
-fit barmaids - when i started, there were none. then i moved up the ranks and started -employing any fit girl i knew.
but theres always one thing that gets me - non smokers whinging about smoke in a pub.
for fucks sake. smoking and pubs go hand in hand (at least in this country).
when i hear all the bollocks about how a ban would benefit employees, i stop and think "Wait!, thats utter bollcks". when you work behind a bar, you simply do not notice the amount of smoke there is (if any, most pubs have extractors).
plus, very few places will let you smoke while at the bar - the place a person who works there will spend most of their time.
if your walking round cleaning or glass collecting you are never in the same space for more than 20 secs tops.
plus, theres all that crap about how your more likely to win the lottery 5 times in a row than to get ill from second hand smoke.
