Right, because that's the first thing I noticed.

You mean to the people who make them? Like if a game makes a group and people sign up? They're powerful. They can publish stories right into your news feed and all your friends see it. Can be annoying but it works and the game co gets tons of new users. If you're just some guy who has a group with a ton of users you can sell ad space on there (in a round about way) and make some cash. Facebook is cracking down on both of these though.

Among other things, I work with game developers to balance their games between fun and making as much money as possible. I dare to say I have almost every app on Facebook that uses microtransactions or a virtual currency installed. I'm talking like 600 apps. It's insane. You wouldn't believe how much money some of these games make - like 7 figures a day.

Nope, not at all. Everyone who's into these games should support Farmtown, its just a couple of dudes who made a successful game that got ripped off by a huge game maker (farmville).
