I don't know what the hell is going on. I get the audio notifications at like start up, closing a window, etc. but neither vlc nor windows media 11 will play an audio file. same with youtube. the video plays but i have no sound. volume control says there are no active mixer devices available. any suggestions as where to start?

i am drinking one of these now. i guess it's ok but it's just kind of a guiness light. that was my first impression. maybe it's geared for those that don't like the extra stout. it's not bad but i don't think i'll be buying any more.
