Check the eventlogs on your PC.. Start > Run > Type: eventvwr Press enter. This will load a list of all the errors your system has encountered recently. see if their's any errors in there that were produced around the time your computer rebooted.. This will give you an idea as to what the problem is.

That's the problem. When you go for a job were you dont really have to do anythign at the start you're like: Yeah, this job is badass I'm getting paid todo absolutley FOrkall. Then you work therefor a couple of months and you're all: Fuck this man every minute here lasts an hour. I've not been a security guard but I had a job babysitting a room full of servers. like watching paint dry but less exciting.

It aint a monday anymore but it's sure as hell a fucking awful tuesday. I've just moved house with a few mates, woke up in the freezing cold cause we havnt set the heating to start up in the morning. Wake up and cough up a lung full of shit from a mega flu bug I've got at the moment. Then on the way into work(cause I cant afford not to go) me and my mate (who is suffereing from the same shit) get into a mega traffic jam. At work people have already called in sick so even if I die at my desk I cant really go home. I need some serious R 'n' R before I R.I.P. on the plus side the aerial guy is comming to fix the TV..

Imagine you were reading this thread at work while, obviously, you were supposed to be working... Then accidentally instead of pressing 'refresh' you press 'print' and dont notice. Any other thread may not have been that bad for someone to find on the printer.. but this was quite hard to explain.

Vanity - I think it could possably be that you're not inputting the right admin password in the repair consol. I know you can reset win2k passwords fairly easily but I'm not sure how easy it is to reset XP passwords.

is your DSL connected to a wireless router? When you say you're getting free connection when you bought this do you mean you've only bought the PCI adaptor and dont have a wireless network set up?

Just to clarify: What wireless networking equiptment did you get?

Did you put your Administrator password in when you started the repair consol? I cant rememebr the original problem really, did this happen after after doing any windows updates? If so you should have a folder on your hard drive with the Gina in which you can copy over: Boot from the XP CD, and press [R] then [C] at the Welcome screen to start the Recovery Console. Enter the Administrator password and then type: cd \windows\servicepackfiles\i386 copy MSGINA.DLL c:\windows\system32 Did you try and bootup in safe mode and swap the gina out through there?

wait - not being able to get a copy of XP was the problem in the first place.. that's what you get for not reading things properly.. Try and bootup in Safe mode I believe that should allow you access to swap the MSGina out although I've not tested it.. if it doesnt work then the CD repair is your only hope..

Vanity - you dont have any way of borrowing a XP CD off someone so you can run a repair? I just had a go on one of the test servers replacing the MSGina.dll through the repair consol and it seemed to work fine, I believe XP has the same repair consol when you boot from the XP CD. if you can manage to quickly grab one off a friend then follow the instructions on: http://www.netadmintools.com/part190.html if that doesnt work hit me back and I'll do some XP testing.

Vanity - What's up with the GINA?

You can only listen when Casek is broadcasting (assuming he's not leaving his computer on 24/7 broadcasting). When he is broadcasting you need to use WinAmp. Nothing else will do because the company that makes ShoutCast also Makes winamp.
