  7. Glad you finally jumped in and started posting my dude.
  8. Seems like you know a lot about this. Do you work on app development?
  9. This is a pretty great site as far as homesteading and farming for those getting into all this and not sure where to start… https://abundantpermaculture.com Also, the main guy, Justin Rhodes has an awesome YouTube and pretty good Instagram feed: https://youtube.com/@theJustinRhodesShow?feature=shared https://www.instagram.com/thejustinrhodesshow/?hl=en Beeb promoting the Survival Podcast for ages, but also a great resource on the subject. In fact, it’s one of the resources that got me going in this direction ages ago. I was living in downtown NYC and starting to see and experience things that woke me up. 9/11, big black out of the North East, Hurricane Andrew back in Miami, etc. Anyhow, started dreaming about cabins and hobby farms back when I used to lurk on Tumblr. Then started looking into it and eventually created a plan that took years of engineering and work to do. What you see now is many more years of planning and building to engineer and execute. https://www.thesurvivalpodcast.com https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-survival-podcast/id284148583
  10. What do you suppose all the recent UFO shit is about? Seems awfully suspect that these last couple years suddenly there’s all kinds of mainstream and government attention on n the subject? Personally I believe there’s certainly life out there, simply based on statistical probability. But likewise, thinking that an alien species that understands the physics of folding space (since light speed is impossible and still too slow) would hit our atmosphere and somehow crash… Seems like a freakin stretch. Anyhow, why now all of sudden? Best guess from me is that it serves as yet another mechanism to distract and divide since “they” seem to be overplaying the race / class / eco mechanisms that normally keep people distracted and divided.
  11. How many of you guys have changed your views on preparedness after these last couple years? I can see how pre-Covid, BLM, etc maybe it was harder to see how quickly life could change and assume you wouldn’t be left out on a limb to fend for yourself. Not trying to turn this into a political thread necessarily and there’s threads for all those topics, but more wondering how many people are now beginning to realize how precarious things can get and wondering how to set yourself up to be a little more self sufficient? Noticed a few related threads around from gardening to cooking to mortgages etc that sort of speak to skills and lifestyle changes that help you be a little more in control of your lives. Anyhow, going to keep reminding everyone on here that it’s a really good idea to put yourself (and family) in a situation where you can ride out tough times. Whether it’s an unexpected job loss, health issue or the apocalypse and zombies roaming the earth (obviously a metaphor for a truly shit hit the fan, regional or national disaster), it would be a really great idea to not have to wait or depend on others when you’re in a fucked up spot.
  12. You missed a bunch. Things are getting good. Also, check out the forum beta app.
  13. HA! That's amazing man. Hope you'll stick around and help us hold down a few threads in Brickslayers.
  14. I echo this statement. Not hijack @-Rage-'s thread, but that's an incredible story. I do hope it helps someone and my best wishes to you, your wife and family for things continuing to improve.
  15. SMH... Prompt: George Washington riding a stallion with a machine gun in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other. It should be a panoramic image on a battle field with lots of patriotic elements like bald eagles, fireworks, American flag and more. Result:
  16. Thank you for the details feedback and again, great to see you on here - Welcome back! Indeed, everything you mentioned makes sense and I've seen the same. As a PWA, the content being loaded isn't truly optimized to function this way. Needs more visual feedback and a lot more optimization. Sounds to me like you might be involved int his or something similar as a profession? Wondering what your experience is? Feel free to message me if you don't want to post on the board. Regardless, appreciate it and indeed, the next update will remedy a lot of this.
  17. Amazing to see all these old names. I'm more excited than I should be also seeing all these colorful new avatars in the thread list and posts. Welcome home everyone! Amazing! Glad to see you posting!
  18. Awesome! Don't forget to put me up. And yeah, you should definitely be on here contributing regularly!
  19. Trying to keep myself on topic, but this discussion stems into a lot of other sub-conversations that actually plan an important role in this one. Big agriculture sucks, whether it's raising meat or plants. You can see how connected it is to pharmaceuticals, since metro chemicals form the foundation of pharmaceuticals and are an important component to farming as a whole: fuel, fertilizers, etc. It's all super interconnected. To clarify, my advocacy of eating real meat isn't based on big ag's implementation of how they've been doing it. Reality is that it is all entirely unsustainable and from a eco perspective, growing plants is no better than growing meat. The narrative that is being spun is entirely disingenuous in the claims that cattle are ruining the environment. Simply considering history and knowing that for eons there were far more ruminants on earth than humans and how many millions of bison roamed the Great Plains - should make people pause when they hear that raising cattle is bad for the environment. When you dig into it, ups quickly learn that the methods, which is supported by the crony capitalism that exists between industry like Big Ag and the government, is at the root of all the issues. The real issue is how the soil is being stripped to grow massively dense crops and all the chemicals used to pull that off and how all that shit is leaching into the ground and running off into water ways. Thinking that after eons and eons that cow farts are a threat to the earth is just retarded. Ruminant animals like cows play a critical role in the eco-system and it's near impossible to have regenerative, plant-based agriculture without them. At its most fundamental, successful economies are built on natural resources. Most often it's energy, followed by agriculture. Successful agriculture in turn is built on high yields, which historically, comes from fertile land. The most fertile land in the world is actually the mid-west USA (no coincidence that the next most fertile land is Ukraine) and both are so fertile because for millennia it was worked over by ruminants. Millions upon millions of them, grazing, shitting and churning the soil along the way. It's the modern Big Ag practice of completely non-sustainable practices of not rotating crops and ruminants that led to having to fertilize and micro manage the shit out of everything. It's also engineered to create a dependency on specific items that they just happen to have a monopoly on since they hold the patents. The big push towards plant based diets is because they are more lucrative in every way, from fertilizers to patented genetics for the crops necessary to create fake meat and is incentivized in a major way because the cost per calorie to bring to market is a far higher profit margin. Growing beef takes a ton more work, has a far more limited shelf life. Also, a lot more difficult to patent the genetics of a cow than it is to patent a seed, that just so happens to be dependent on a fertilizer that you also hold the patent for. Also, far easier to pack a bunch of extra filler bullshit into fake meat, than it is to real meat. Like most things shopped to the masses and celebrated, it's not about what is right for you, but what is best for them. Nobody should be fooled by this campaign that lab grown fake meat is necessary to save the earth. That's just a very convenient marketing / position strategy to make you think it's your obligation to buy more of what they're able to profit most from.
  20. Thanks for hopping back on. It's picking up in a major way as you'll see if you pick around. We also have a forum app in beta you can try out (official app dropping in summer). But there's definitely enough interest and enough of us still on and checking in for this to truly be a viable alternative to Instagram. Especially considering how shitty the experience on there has become. Anyhow, that's what we're all working towards so hopefully its enough to get you and everyone else to hang out more regularly.
