laughslast
Thaksin, the former PM of Thailand was just appointed the economic adviser in Cambodia. Are you fucking kidding me?! Ok, does anybody else see the fucking strangest of fucking ironies in this. I mean there was a goddamn coup in Thailand to get him out because of his control over the telecommunications industry, and so now he is in a political position in Cambodia? Weird. This will be interesting. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/asia/article6904000.ece Funny that his congratulatory message was sent out via twitter. christo-f
Thailand and Cambodia have had competition over the centuries. They just recently had border clashes over the last 18 months were a few soldiers were killed and still have their armies based along the border. Hun Sen has always been antagonistic toward Thailand as well, supports his image of being a strong man at home. This is another indication of how far ASEAN still has to go before it will be anything other than a loose regional trading bloc. Another issue to add to that list is the South China Seas dispute.
