troofandroomaz
yo NYC peoples, and those who can get there easily. A Sunny Day in Glasgow, Casino Versus Japan, Shigeto, and TYCHO* are playing Le Poisson Rouge on Bleecker St. it's a dope venue, I had the chance to see Steve Reich conduct his new piece, and some of his old ones there. Fucking great venue for some dark ambient electro. The show is 10 in advance, 12 at the door (pretty cheap for a good show as far as im concerned). Any Tri-state oontzers interested should definitely go.
troofandroomaz
THE ROBOT SCIENTISTS http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendId=389043977 Expert DJ's in all budget/space/cosmic disco. This blog is an encyclopedia of awesome spaced out tunes, complete with track lists. Like over 20 sets of music, all over an hour a piece, all free. ULRICH SCHNAUSS Awesome ambient guru from Berlin, both of these albums rule imo. Ambient, shoegaze stuff. http://music.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music.artistalbums&artistid=2409540&ap=0&albumid=14147123 http://music.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music.artistalbums&artistid=2409540&ap=0&albumid=14147792 THE FIELD Minimal techno from Sweden. I'm not too overly into minimal techno, but this dude does it VERY well. SUPER interesting sample work, mind bending work. See his albums From Here We Go Sublime, and Yesterday and Today. This track samples Fleetwood Macs-Everywhere, (female vocal samples get my butt wet nh). This is a few different Lionel Ritchie Samples...the end is the keyyyy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVSrVxXoiX8&feature=related I can't find links to streaming albums, but you can find most of his shit on youtube. Also, try to find anything done by Professor Genius, Jersey City's Finest, he's lumped in with the space electro disco shit. If you can find it, enjoy it, he rules. I know his shit pops up in the RObot Scientist Mixes, as well as on youtube when searched. Also, I didn't see anyone say Royksopp?Am I misatken? If so, they rule as well. and Air!...Le Premiers Symptomes and 10000HZ Legend are both incredible imo. Also, my roommate is really into dropbox (?) and I've never fucked with it, but I know any mac user can utilize it to trade large files between computers. If any of you want, we could exchange that way if there aren't any links online for listening. PEACE AND HAPPY SPACE TRAVELS!!!!!!!! BTW, that TYCHO show is this saturday dec 13th
TresOne
After just looking through the first page, I'm seeing a pretty big range of music. Someone posted the "Window Licker" album, and I'd say that's far from ambient. So to follow in suit with the first page, I'll just drop this: It's more dub than anything. Bu-Seki http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72ryniqyKOY Ko-Ku http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwgkgQ6f9rI Muh-Getsu Propped. Amazing album. :)
