LIVERWURST*
The US has already conducted military operations within Pakistan. If he has to take out a safe-haven that includes leadership like Ayman Al-Zawahiri, and Osama bin Laden; and the leaders of the nation are not acting -- then I'm all for it. The first step though would be to negotiate with Pakistan in getting them granting permission. If they don't -- strike them anyway. I agree, but I also think this could be done with a larger design in hand to prevent any real response. Musharraf isn't supporting these groups, he's just politically and to a degree militarily, too weak to attack them. If we went in and finally took the war to the real terrorists, I don't see anyone turning against us. Posturing is not the same as action, and I wouldn't be surprised if Musharraf would be fine with it as long as we kept secretly funneling money to him for military purposes. LIVERWURST*
Oh yeah, my vote list is definitely Obama followe quickly by Ron Paul. I doubt any of you heard it, but Paul was on NPR and he was one of the most articulate and honest politicians I've ever heard speak. I don't agree with all of his politics, but I'd be willing to bet he'd be one of the best presidents we could ever have.

DRUNKEN-ASSHOLE-ONER
didn't know you supported dr. paul. good deal, theo. DAO: ron paul knows what is constitutional and what isn't. socialized health care is not the answer. making the economy better and limiting big pharma's power is. get your head right. In this country if you have cancer and you don't have $1/4 million dollars to get help, you're dead. Even if you DO have insurance you're probably still assed out. This is the only "western" country that doesn't have tax funded healthcare for ALL of its citizens. Out of all the money that we are taxed for that hardly ever goes to anything that personally benefits us, I'd be DAMN GLAD to see some of it go to making sure that I can get the treatment needed if I got cancer, or if I got ran over by a bus. And I'd be DAMN glad to see it go towards my familly and freinds when they need it. How the fuck you gonna bitch about a extra dollar or two getting took out your paycheck when it actually goes toward something benifitial of the people? If you're that hardcore against taxes then why the fuck you voting at all? Not one politician is going to repeal the taxes already in place. And if you're that hadcore against taxes then why aint you in prison for tax evasion? And would you seriously rather go through the bullshit to even get approved for health insuance, pay ALOT more money than what would be taken out in taxes if we had socialized medicine, and take the chance of your insurance company leaving you out to dry when you need them??? GET YOUR HEAD RIGHT!
lord_casek
chill out there, DAO. i understand what you are saying. when i broke my femur in '01, i was insurance-less. i think the biill was $16,000. i had toi run from it. couldn't pay more than a few grand and that only covered anesthesia and ambulatory expenses. so, i do understand. look at canada. they pay out the ass and have to be put on a waiting list if it's anything serious. that is socialized medicine. as for taxes. i like taxes that go towards the people. federal taxes don't go for anything in this country. they are used to pay international debt accrued. we have a big one now, if you didn't know. that's thanks to the gold standard being wiped out and fiat currency being put in place. i think you should examine ron paul's views more closely as to why he isn't for a socialist medicine program. it may make more sense. i'll dig for some videos or something. here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5603739674947157913&q=ron+paul+healthcare&total=110&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=
LIVERWURST*
MRL: if it goes clinton/obama on the same ticket, would you still vote for him via her? If it was Paul vs Clinton I would vote Paul. Obama as a trainee/vote grabber is not appealing - I want him in office because he is new and seemingly less tainted. Experience in politics is not a selling point for me. I am not the constitutional "purists" you guys are, but my vote for Paul in his case would be about strength of character - which is a major aspect of Obamas appeal as well. I think what Ron Paul would do, above all other things, is reset the political game and undue the ridiculous trampling on our constitution and the political system. banana fish
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070802/ap_on_el_pr/edwards_news_corp ergh i just cuaght this. Fox did some reports on Obama where they were saying he was Muslim and went to a Muslim school but later they found out the school is public and does not teach based on the religion and that Obama is Christian. They even went so far as to actually relate that obama sounds like osama. Then they talked about how he smokes cigarettes like in some way that should stiffle his campaign bullshit like that. I cant really take them seriously. Hilary has to be doing something for them to be hush hush about her husbands "past mischief" if all the trash fox news can scrounge up on the presidential cannidates is that obama smokes and his last name sounds like osama. I agree with MRL Hilary seems pretty shady and if her character isnt strong enough for you to want her to be president becuase of what she can do and not her husband then she doesnt deserve to be president.
