pertplus1
Did they charge anytihng? Heard some places around here charging $25-$
One Man Banned
Did not watch, gave up on watching boxing after Tyson/Holyfield. This fight was overhyped IMO, like in MMA when you see 2 guys finally get matched up that everyone wanted to see years ago but now it's not the same fight as if you saw them then. pertplus1
Yea but even those fights in the UFC are more entertaining that May vs Pac
Hua Guofang
Did they charge anytihng? Heard some places around here charging $25-$30 No charge, they make their money off the drinks/food they sell. Would assume it's illegal to charge for viewing when you have a public broadcast license (or whatever their contract is). In Australia if places did charge they'd be very promptly reported to orgs like the Broadcasting Authority and Consumer Competition Commission, etc., and action would be taken. Plus, every pub and club was showing it so folk would just cross the road and watch it for free at another joint.
bed framed
Didn't pay for it but was extremely disappointed. The undercard fights were way more action packed. I respect Floyd's hustle but when he retires we'll get to see exciting championship fights again. GGG is my favorite to dominate the middleweight division the next few years. I knew Jones would get pulled from the fight. Glad he got stripped too. He needs to get his life in order. He has two older brothers playing in the NFL, if I were them I would've kicked his ass for disgracing the family.
One Man Banned
mark-hunt-ufc-fight-night-65-facebook.jpg?w=1000.j Did not watch, but damn dude got his ass beat!
pertplus1
I watched. That fight was disgraceful. I'm a fan of Hunt, but he's too tough for his own good, and the obvious Aussie bias that the ref had made the fight last 2 rounds too long. Hunt couldn't even fight back after the 3rd. One Man Banned
BTW, saw that an upcoming Fight Night will actually be in the AM, so don't miss it, Edgar/Faber in the Philippines. Prelims on by 8AM. Never been an Edgar fan but he wins. Was a Faber fan since WEC but he hasn't fared as well in UFC, feel like he needs this win but is going to have a tough time of it,
pertplus1
Good looks, definitely would've missed it, and it's a fight I wanna see. I'm a fan of both, but lost some respect for Faber after I found out he was one of those anti-vaxer nut jobs lol
One Man Banned
That is kind of funny, especially since he's also probably one of those guys who sticks a tube in his arm to rehydrate after weigh-ins.
bed framed
I watched the fight last night. Mark Hunt doesn't have it anymore. People have figured out that you let him throw his haymakers for two rounds and by round 3 he's gassed out and you can dominate him in any way. He's the same fighter as Roy Nelson, besides KO power they have nothing. Ref should have stopped it in the 3rd.
pertplus1
Dude he was gassed before the first ended, it was sad. You can only succeed by having one punch and being fat for so long
pertplus1
Gunna missed the Faber Edgar fight, but at least I'll be painting
One Man Banned
Bellator started online, live on TV in 1.5hrs, whether it's good is anyone's guess. Who you guys got on Faber/Edgar?
pertplus1
I think Faber only wins if he can KO or submit, and I don't think he'll be able to do that to Edgar. Edgar has better stand up and wrestling IMO. Edgar by decision.
One Man Banned
Missed Rd1 of that fight where they stopped to check the cut and put in the mouthpiece, but those dudes banged out. Nice seeing Munoz go out classy and with a W. Think Faber is kind of done as a fighter at this point, despite recent wins he's not on top anymore and got nothing done in that fight other than the one knee to the face. pertplus1
Called it! Don't think he's done cause I mean....he's been fighting top talent for how long? Maybe make him sort of the "gate keeper" of 135. If you beat Faber you're in the top 5 lol
pertplus1
Super stokes about the fights tomorrow. My predictions: Dodson by KO in the 1st Benavidez by decision Browne by KO in the 2nd Cerrone by KO in the 3rd Weidman by decision Johnson by decision
One Man Banned
Yeah, best card in a while, might have to pay for it so I don't miss anything. Like that you got Cerrone by KO. That's my dude, I can see a W but not necessarily like that. Browne is a given, maybe in the 1st, Arlovski never really came back. Dodson and Benavidez should be givens, Weidman seems like one too but he might end that himself. Still think if Johnson cracks Cormier in the face he could KO, but maybe he'll get beat up a little by DC 1st.
pertplus1
Cerrone is probably my 2nd favorite behind Aldo, I've got a soft spot for the WEC guys. I might have to change Browne to a 1st round KO like you said, who knows though. The Weidman fight is really tough to call to be honest, I've only seen him fight like 3 times. I'm not sure I see DC getting KO'd, but then again AJ did KO Gus.
One Man Banned
WEC had many dope fights, like most of their fighters too and am disappointed when I see them lose in UFC. I'm going with Weidman because he's on top right now and Belfort seems like his time has come and gone, but if Belfort does win that might make it more exciting. DC has a head like a melon, a knockout might be tougher on him, but it seems like Johnson can really crack guys with punches, maybe KO on the feet/stoppage due to volume of strikes. One Man Banned
Not so sure Hall lost that fight
pertplus1
I had him losing, he's such a disappointing fighter though. It's like he has all the tools to be amazing, but lacks aggression
One Man Banned
The unpredictability, why I love this sport. That Browne/Arlovski fight was great with only 1 round, did not predict Arlovski at all, had him counted out in his career, and Browne is a tough dude, so good show by Arlovski. pertplus1
I'm so bad at predicting heavy weight fights, haha
pertplus1
Little disappointed in AJ, but damn DC is a beast! What a night of fights.
pertplus1
oh shit hahahah that may have been the best post fight speech i've ever heard
bed framed
I picked Arlovski to win just cause. Had Cerrone winning easily but that was a good fight. I wanted Weidman to pummel Belcheat and I thought Johnson would KO Courmier if he kept the fight off the ground.
One Man Banned
Post fight speech, ha ha. That was the 1st UFC I've seen in a while where when you look out at the ringside seats there aren't empty seats or people looking bored.
One Man Banned
Excited to see Condit fight tonight. Don't know anyone else on the card, but there are 3 guys named Oliveira, lol. Condit used to have one of the best mean mugs coming out to a fight in WEC, doesn't seem there as much now. His mom looks like an angry pit bull.
