Mozilla making tens of millions from Firefox

March 11, 2006

Mozilla gets paid a publicly undisclosed amount for each Google search query made from Firefox by a user.

In March 2006, Weblogs, Inc. founder Jason Calacanis reported a rumor on his blog that Mozilla Corporation gained $72M during the previous year, mainly thanks to the Google search box in the Firefox browser.

DigitalCowboy brings us the world’s first dual cursor mouse. At first glance, the DCT-DPM1 may look like normal, but press the side button and a second cursor appears (red). There aren’t many practical uses we can think of, other than handling complex Excel documents. Pricing and availability have not yet been announced. Video after the jump.

i posted this last page just making sure everyone gets it

Microsoft is offering a free USB drive when you take a short, four-question, propaganda-laden quiz about Windows licensing. It's a pretty cool -- and painless -- way to get a USB drive.

Okay, it's not completely painless. You need a Microsoft Passport password (register for one here) And the drive comes loaded with easily deleted propaganda.

At the site, click the picture of the USB drive (and if your ad-blocker is set to block Java, unblock the page). However unethical you think I am, I'm giving you the answers: 2, T, T, T.

ellow status means that Hamachi cannot establish direct p2p tunnel

between you and respective peer. This is not a bug, but rather an

artefact of core Hamachi technology that occurs roughly in 3-5% of

all cases.

The underlying reason is in a combination of NAT/router/firewall devices

on both ends. Therefore you may see cases when for A, B and C peers,

A can talk to B, B can talk to C, but A cannot talk to C.

Currently there is only one way to resolve this issue, which is to use

Magic Option and to configure port forwarding on your router:

Select some UDP port, say, 12975

Forward this port from the network interface on your router

that hooks up to the Internet to the machine that is running

Hamachi.

Enable Magic Option and set it to the selected port

Reconnect Hamachi

What Magic option does is it forces Hamachi to use specified UDP port

as a local port for all its p2p traffic.

For details on how to configure port forwarding (and what it is in general)

please see this website - http://www.portforward.com
