azereus ftw.

and casek, i've checked my settings in control panel, i'm not even getting a microphone slider..

oh geez. well, there's the issue. now we need to take steps to correct it.

something to check out beforehand

settings/control panel/system/hardware/device manager

see any exclamation marks?

on what devices? sound and audio?

here's the plan:

download the drivers from the hp link

uninstall your sound drivers and reboot. when winblows pops up a screen telling you

it found new hardware, cancel it.

now install those drivers and that one update (can't recall what it says it's for, but it's from may of this year).

reboot and test again.

it may solve it, it may not.

i'll be around here. we'll get that shit working.

The picture viewer in Windows Vista, renamed Windows Photo Gallery Viewer, is completely rewritten and is based on Windows Photo Gallery which uses the Windows Imaging Component (WIC). Since the Windows Imaging Component is extensible, Windows Photo Gallery and Windows Photo Gallery Viewer can organize and view any image format for which a third party codec is installed. By default, the Windows Photo Gallery Viewer can view JPEG, BMP, PNG, TIFF and HD Photo images, as well as video. RAW image formats used by high-end professional cameras are also supported by installing their respective codecs in WIC. The viewer also supports lossless rotation of images and ICC V4 embedded color profiles. However, legacy image formats such as WMF and EMF do not have their respective codecs available in WIC, and therefore cannot be viewed by default.

Ok, that's a yes to my second question, now about my problem?

I know what you mean, like it just saves one frame instead of the whole animation. But it animates fine when it opens in IE7, just not in the windows viewer.
