Montana hardcore makes tips especially for male spray paint systems, go to their website and look at the tips they have, there should be a white hooded tip with a green dot and a white hood with a black dot made especially for those kinds of cans. I don't know what other caps to use besides the rusto fats (which are complete shit in my opinion.) The universal fat is supposed to work but it shot the whole dot out of the cap! Thanks for the input. Heres a good suggestion if you bought all of those astro fats and dont want to waste them. I let the pressure out for a while with that astro fat that lost its dot. I just put the cap on and invert the can and push for like 30 seconds or 45 seconds. I do this for all rusto paints mainly, i sweat rusto uses this technique of filling the cans up with pressure to save them mad bucks, cuz one time i let a good amount of pressure out of sunburst yellow (best american yellow in my mind if u cant find summer squash, its the stops rust brand, which is the regular all white lookin' brand) and i only had about 75% of paint cuz the other 25% was like filler pressure. But back to the astro fats, when u let enough pressure out the astro fats work pretty nice. They do this because there is less output of pressure which splatters the paint all over the place and ur hands especially. This should be ur problem solved. As for the cap selection i use NY thins for outlining with rusto and Rusto fats for fills. I swear sometimes ny fats work but i have never tried lowering the pressure with them and using ny fats, how bout u try it if u can. Ny fats are my fav. filler cap for rusto when dey work right, I also like clash caps but they are harder to come by. And yes u ahve to lower the pressure for the clash caps. josefstrat@yahoo.com Posted June 22, 2007 Share Posted June 22, 2007 i like it for fills. mostly use it with krylon, but i just found out it fits on rusto. so ya CaptainKOOK i lied.but its nowhere near as fat as it is on krylon. on rusto though its skinnier than a rusto fat is, but its pretty good for outlines imo. note: i just found this out like an hour ago, and i only used it on rusto gloss white and gloss black, but i presume it'll work the same on the colors. I think that thats one of the most pressurized colors in the rusto selection, maybe thats an overstatement. Always let the pressure out, rusto uses it as a filler. Rusto Fat or NY Fat personally i go with NYs cause have better control... rustos are loud and tend put out alot of paint with a small width..smaller than NYs. but my fav fat cap for handstyles has to be pink dots.. for details Grey dots but they tend clog pretty quick..but over all NY thins for filling in large areas fast i would have to say Silver hoods... i use rusto and MTN spain paint only....havent tried Belton due to price.. but rusto kicks krylons ass...sorry folks its just the truth... a good cap for male cans like MTN classics or the new Painter Touch is the kind you get off raid cans..there more a nozzel than a cap really....and you can get rusto fats off of elmers spray adhiesive..... josefstrat@yahoo.com Posted June 29, 2007 Share Posted June 29, 2007 ny thins are probably gonna be the thinnest while still being clean. but rusto and krylon stocks are preeetty skinny on rusto, just not as clean, but you can do cutbacks to clean up. also blue dots are actuall pretty thin on rusto, especially compared to a krylon can. hope this helps.
