Truthfully I do not care that much, but a lot of the internet porn sites are either videos/pictures of underage girls or women that turn to the industry because it is there only source of income. This is the same question of hookers, they do what they do for the most part because it is the only way they can get income, I am sure they do not like it to be a women and take pictures for some dirty men who ultimatly want to whore you to a market of 25 - 40 year old men. vinyl junkie Posted October 8, 2002 Share Posted October 8, 2002 correction dude, most of them do it because it's an easy way to make income... that goes for porn, stripping, prostitution, etc... once again, i encourage you to do some research on the porn industry... find out how well most girls get paid, how much say they have over what they will and wont do... the porn industry caters to women, it couldn't survive without, so it is counter productive to treat them like shit and push them away... i also encourage you to put some time into figuring out what being a feminist really means... as far as i knew, it was simply supporting a woman's right to be herself, and to not be constricted by "social norms" and sex roles... that means if she wants to get naked and show it off she should feel perfectly empowered to do so... when she has someone telling her it's not right, and that as a woman she should not be doing so then she is simply falling victim to the constraining sex roles that women spent so much time overcoming (look into the hayes code that was put on the movie industry in the 1940's i believe...) also, contrary to popular belief, there aren't that many underage girls in porn, due to the fact that the producers and almost anyone else involved would be sent to prison and required to pay huge amounts of money... the screening process for most companies is incredibly extensive... but, i'll also point out that there are girls on suicide girls who aren't "of age"... i bet yer one of those people that could look at a black and white picture of a girl fisting herself, hanging in an upscale art gallery, and sit there for hours and comment on how that picture expresses the force applied to women in modern society and how it also conveys that most women apply this same force on themselves because that is what society tells them to do, but if you saw the same picture, only in color, and in a porno mag, you would spend days talking about how horrible it is and how that girl is a disgrace to women everywhere... put some research into yer lofty ambitions... don't push a movement backwards in an "attempt" to push it forwards...
