Seeing the mighty Absu tonight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hli3LPGKc18, gonna be great, I have yet to see them on a headlining tour of their own. Ilsa, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkj4cRvsO4w, and Extermination Angel, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6eol6H5xLk, are opening. Not bad openers but bands like that are a dime a dozen and they aren't doing anything special in my opinion, though I am a big fan of Disease Called Man (pre-extermination angel).

Also, some of the good black:

Cornigr -

Mortuus -

Lil' bump action.

Vlad Tepes - possibly their best song, from the Belketre split

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPl2Q8z3-0U

Pestilentia - some seriously great Belarusian black metal, long songs, captivating riffs

Ouroboros - one of the best canadian war metal bands, this song is like a toned down version of Lust

https://soundcloud.com/iron-bonehead-productions/ouroboros (couldn't find a youtube link)

Absu was ridiculous, they played a little over 90 minutes shredding through all of the early albums and then playing the entire second half of Tara. Nonsense. Also someone else besides Aumstarsbcf must like good metal on this site, no?

That Prosanctus Inferi album is awesome. Went to MDF for the 10th time this year, had a blast despite lots of issues w/ security at the gate not knowing how to do their jobs. Though not death/black/grind, Manilla Road was one of the highlights for me. I'd always been a casual fan but they really bring it live. Cobalt was the biggest disappointment, Antaeus, Ascension, and Aosoth all played solid sets. Speedwolf was another highlight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnZqZfKQxmo, awesome dudes as well.

And now, some of the best mid 90s black metal you've never heard of:

Noctes (Swe) -

Persophone -

Tenebrae -

Mightiest -

White Chapel fans should be negged. And punched, and thrown in the local mall food courts. Those lil fuckers are from around my way and are the biggest fucking lames you will ever meet. Fuck a Lamb of God as well. That mallcore pic is White Chapel personified
