Cheers, so hard shooting from the back but couldn't be bothered to move. When zoomed in aperture was stuck to f/3.5, not happy.. Haha. Ah well, should be shooting more shows soon with the d300s
Some shots from a show last night, taken with a G11 chilling at the back of the room. Was shooting to get the whole atmosphere, too hard to get good detail with the camera/light/spot...
D300s is a sturdy machine, you'll love it. Dropped mine off the table at a pub, about 4-5ft onto concrete with the flash popped up, not one scratch. Checked all internals and shot for a week solid after that. Hahah, love it.
Cheers JB, film's always felt a bit more natural but pushing to get better with digital.
Menino, killer shots as usual. Great documentation of daily life.
Dope Nikes Mercer, I thought my shoes were dirty hahah..

I'll get round to going through this thread and checking out all your pages this arvo, seen a few. nice stuffs
Good movie but Zodiac goes for ages, I'd watch it again but it takes some real sitting down and concentrating to watch.
Picked up 'Let The Right One In' the other day, sick movie. Much recommended.
Hey Menino, those photos are great. Seriously good work man, that's a pretty heavy story but it's a great social documentary. I feel like I'm reading The Big Picture or something. Propped as much as I can.
Is the 50mm 1.4? I've never seen a f1.5
I shoot with this 50mm 1.4 on my FE2 body, and a lot of the time I'll use it on my D300s. It works fine and it's going having the aperture ring. It won't autofocus but that's not important.

Check out all these other 55's from Nikon

Looking through my Grandads old camera bag and I found the receipt for all of his gear. Dated 2/2/65. Purchased in Singapore.
I still use the camera and lenses today. Asahi Pentax SV w/
-28mm f3.5
-55mm f1.8
-200mm f5.6
I've heard they're not too bad for entry level cameras. I know a girl who has one and produces some nice stuff with it.
Then there's the bonus of the funky colours, haha.
I couldn't imagine using anything other then a black one though.
Left out a bit of information hey, haha. Mainly models to show the clothing they're wearing. I have a slave flash but no idea of where/how they want to do the shoot. Just looking for some general ideas from people that shoot models, which are the best all round lenses
So who can recommend a good lens for portraits/fashion shoot. For Nikon.
I pretty much only use my 50mm f1.4, for everything. Have come across some work that will probably require a new lens for 'glamor shots'
Cheers!
