  1. ^^Kaiser on the PMA tip!! That's what I'm talking about!
  2. ^^I wonder if that has the chemical that makes the paint hard to cover? There is an industrial marker that, when painted over, stains up into the paint covering it and you can still see it. It's called a Bleed Through pen as well I think. Damn KR... Straight Beast material.
  3. It's called a flow pen, but don't expect "drippy mop." They do flow, but only in the way it lays down the ink. Nice solid lines with little streaking. You can get drips with them, but nothing excessive. The pockets are just a paint combo. Same deal... no drips if thats what you are expecting. But there are plenty of options for drips if you want them(they seem to be the new trendy mark). Looks good too, but there are millions of great tags that have no drips at all. So in the arena of styling, both those markers will work just fine. I would say go with the flow pen. Anyone else...?
  4. ^^Good call. I know if I brought a mini with paint, I would most likely be ok... But the DED might just get smelled, if not noticed. Thanks for the responses!
  5. I won't have a problem with getting a utensil once there, so I am just not going to bring one. I think I will resort to stickers for the Gestapo Check Points of Death and will totally bring my trusty white out pen, and just tell them that I do crosswords with an ink pen, but that I am not very good at crosswords. If paint is not allowed, there is NO WAY that a mop with industrial ink is going to get through anything. I will keep my reserve, and just go lite. I need a bag that I can lock so I can check it.
  6. Here is a question for you guys to think about... (please don't answer unless you, or someone you know, have actually done this or actually know for sure if you are correct, SMOOTH NUTS, there is no need for response from you). I'm flying to the left coast. I had planned on bring a couple of markers with me to facilitate my insatiable urge to write my name on shiny shit. I ain't rich, and don't travel in the air... ever. I've been to airports, and been on a plane before, but that was over a while ago. I HATE AUTHORITY. The last thing that I want is to cause a scene in federal jurisdiction, wherein I miss my flight because my bag set off some sort of cross referencing drugs/dangerous chemicals sensor and I end up getting arrested because I demand that I be treated fairly until proven guilty and shit with my shoes already in my hands. It's not worth it to me to have to go through this, but as stated before I don't travel in this manner. I won't be bringing anything that I can't carry with me on the plane, and I am not letting anyone take my bag from me. The only thing that will be questionable is a mini mop with DED(red flag material??) and a white out pen. I know I shouldn't bring anything, but are they going to flip on me, make me toss it or just take it, or what?? Serious replies please. I might already be on a RED FLAGGED FAA/HomelandSec list. (^^this isn't hard to do, and lots of people are on these lists). So I am prepared to get sent to the full search line.
  7. ^^don't know... CAN YOU? Why don't you just try?
  8. ^^BIG BUMP for common sense in full effect. Well in full at least... A lot of you kids are gonna read this stuff, never "GET IT," so the EFFECT portion isn't so valid. It's like talking to awkward prepubescent zombies that don't know how to help themselves, and need other peoples brains to make their decisions for them. But you know... what ever.
  9. When you mix all pigments... You get black. If you mix all the light(as in light bulb light) colors you get white. Like a bunch of different colored spot lights pointing to the same spot. You get white... pretty cool.
  10. The one that you are going to get from Oink is the same diameter as those on the Krinks above. Just a slightly longer body. The nibs might be a little different in how they look, but I use the bottles shown above also, the diameter of both markers pushes the limits as to how small that type of nib/valve system can get. I can wait for my Oink shipment to arrive! But easy answers is they are about the same.
  11. holy shit... KR is on top of the situation!! Don't call it a comeback.
  12. Shit. Ok so the product was... I think... A car wax applicator that had the liquid wax in a bottle that doubled as a handle like on a gun. So where the barrel of the gun would be, there was instead a 3 and 1/2" diameter round sponge applicator. You squeeze the wax into the sponge and apply(not directly to forehead). It's out there, and I have seen it with my own eyes. In looking for this thing, I found THESE. Never used them before, but they are big... Might be worth taking a look at. Sorry to tease, but also really want to know what that thing was again. I will make some phone calls.
  13. It's just expensive sign paint. Lighter colored paints stand out better too. You can really do a light colored ink, so thats why I encourage making bright/lighter colored paint colors. Like Junobo paint.
  14. OK... I now know what you are talking about and yes it is HUGE!! I am going to tease and try and find the product first before I tell you what it is. A friend of mine had one those. It's not a marker at all. That's your hint. Be back in 15 with or without photos.
  15. I understand that you want a marker for this application... But seriously... thats a possibly messy ass marker to slug around. Just use a can, the old fashion way. Seriously.
  16. Go with the old trusty. The Kiwi mop is tip top! It's too big in my opinion. Unless you are trying to play bingo with god and the cards are super huge... then you might need something much bigger.
  17. Not very big. You can make a large one... but a large bottle of Kiwi shoe polish is the biggest round nib that I know of. Anyone else?? Alternatively you can take any canister, plastic bottle and mount a rolled up felt eraser strips to create wide round marker. But I think kiwi is your best bet. They don't look big, but when you drop em with a good INK, not paint, you get big bold lines that flow and drip. Hope that helps.
  18. Not the cap. Find a cap that fits over the marker. Then wrap the tape on the body of the marker to make the cap fit snug on the marker.
  19. STOP THE PRESSES!!! DO NOT THIN OUT PROPER PURPLE!!! Thats a Pantone color and is for mixing!! Get a 8oz tin of good oil based rusto. Mix in a couple of spoon fulls of the Proper Purple. MIX MIX MIX. Then thin this new slightly lighter purple, and you still have lots of One shot PropPurp to mix more. Good luck.
  20. ^^I know people say they get drips, but seriously... I don't know to many people actually use this style of marker. They are all the same. If you want sweet drips you need to use a mop. Not a marker. OR... You can get an empty marker, like above, and only use ink in it. Poke some holes through the nib straight down and maul the end of the nib so its not flat and sharp. Then you can get drips... But still not like what most people want. Ink drips. Paint doesn't unless it's in a mop. And all these OTR/Molotow pump drip markers will not produce the drips you want if you buy them straight up. They come with shitty paint in them and you need to have super in in them. If you want to a drippy marker/mop... Get one of THESE or THESE. Fill it with some of THIS or THIS Also... DED is coming out with his own mop too! You want drips, and messy tags to work with?? Use those links. Good luck. Stay up.
  21. Word life. The higher the Mesh Count the finer the particles. This works really well too! Especially with paint mixes. Red with aluminum dust... comes out like automotive touch up paint. Really dope.
  22. ^^good call. That's right on. Look for consumer tops off of everyday products. The tape idea is a good one as well. Nice find.
  23. They aren't going to stop making the bodies... But I think it was Sharpie, or one of their subsidiaries, that bought out Uni. They will have the same body, but shitty paint in them. Not the age old Uni formula. Thats the skinny. I can't find any articles on this, but when I looked, all the old stuff made by Sanford Corp that makes the UNI's, is discontinued.
  24. Those UNI's are now discontinued... You might want to pick up whatever you can find thats on the racks. As far as I last heard, they wont be stocking them anymore. Well not as Uni's at least (correct me if am wrong please).
  25. You can put it directly into your markers... but to get the best use out of it, you want to make your mix first, with that in it, and then put your mixed mix into a marker. Either way will work, but the premix is better.
