  1. ^^Sorry to be the one to say it... But you are just not using that mop enough. If you find that you are not going to be using as often as you should*, you should be shaking it up at least every 2-3 days to keep the thinner/paint mixed. Otherwise... it's becomes that sad deflated piece of plastic with a dried out rubber nib. *Should is up to interpretation in that sentence. It's up to you use it as much as you see fit... but once every week or so... You gotta switch up to a different mop every day or so and you can get a great variety going for you. Good luck.
  2. Turp isn't the best for moving the paint through something like a Uni. You could get by with Turp in a mop, but not a Uni. Actually... Thinner and paint in a Uni only work but so good, for me at least. There is something else in the Uni mix that lets it flow better. You can try taking the nib out of the Uni and cutting slices off of both ends and trying it then. Sometimes the paint will gunk up in the nib. Cutting the ends gets your flow back sometimes. Good luck.
  3. It says roll down to Rva and chill this weekend... There's a Marathon or something with people running... and the Shrimpy-Tuna.
  4. ^^I was about to say the same thing. I have never put DOT3 in ink before. They have opposing bases, but it's good to know that it works for you. I have to use a fair amount to get any ghosting at all, and doing this makes the paint oily and it takes hours to set and days to dry. I will have to try it out in ink... You should post some flicks of the buff with the ghost still showing.
  5. Yo Mr.D7's... There is a great tutorial on modding those type of nibs. No matter want the size. It's like 10 or so pages back maybe. I forget who did it, but it will make those nibs last. Nice find.
  6. ^^And way more entertaining than that 78% too!
  7. I have come to the conclusion that both are equally useless. Not trying to be a jerk, or smart ass... But they both are worthless additives for your paint mixes. Found something... Let's just say something better. I have to try it out first to make sure it does work correctly and then I will post my findings. But seriously... Fish Oil and Dot3 are too heavy and greasy to add to your mixes. It screws up your drying time. Yeah...
  8. Start by figuring out the base. I will help you on that one... India ink is Water based. Now... what you want to search for, not on this site but out on google, and in hardware stores, you want to look for water based stainer. For wood, leather, anything... if it's water based stain... just mix it with the India Ink. Good luck.
  9. ^^Don't ask about specifics on the internet. Why do you need to know? That's what makes people agitated over you questions. If you don't already know... sorry. Don't ask. It seems shady.
  10. That's what I do too. I keep mine in glass though... It just shelfs better that way. Looks good too.
  11. DEAR Children of the UK, and adults that don't know what "rubbing alcohol" is... What you are looking for is this: ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL It has hundreds of practical uses and as long as bottle says at least, 70%, or higher, it's perfect for ink usage. Good luck.
  12. SOAKER - All I was saying is that if you are on top of the game and going nation wide as a writer, you aren't going to be looking like a bum. It's also impossible to not be, or at least look like, a consumer in America... Unless you are a bum. ^^Opinions will come and go. You can't stop mine, and I won't stop yours. Check that.
  13. ^^As you type that from a computer on the internet. I don't know a single, real, writer that doesn't hold an heir of quality, fashion, and general well to do'ness. Regardless if they stole, bought, made, or was handed down their gear... they still looked good and at the same time exuded the essence of ownership or consumerism. This talk of Consumers and Whores in relation to being a man, or a toy... You are comparing apples and oranges. Don't label people too soon.
  14. ^^Use a Turkey Baster. It's that time of year and they are mad cheap. It's what I use for bucket paint... anything thinner though, like inks, will just not keep a suction and will seep out. But for the bucket paint... works like a charm. Good luck.
  15. ^^oh... that's what it said. Yeah...
  16. That EYE is on the serious psychedelic tip! You gotta open that third sometimes to see the other side. Bump.
  17. The best mix you will ever use is the basic glossy black oil based rusto with basic paint thinner. It's simple and cheap. If your shit is getting buffed, having more staining power isn't going to help you. You just need to hit up more spots in places the buff can't get to and reclaim old spots. It's the give/take of writing.
  18. That recipe is the biggest joke. If you go about 25 pages into this thread, you see a bunch of fake recipes like that one. Only squares and toys have ever attempted to put maple syrup, eggs, or any other foods into their mix. And freezing anything will not make a streak. But it's still entertaining to see these mixes come back from the grave... you know, where it belongs.
  19. ^^Are you a cave-man/Jar Jar Binks enthusiast? People never look at the first page... But they should. I'm bored and I need drugs to have a good time... Sike. But I love drugs none the less. I didn't actually do any drugs tonight, but if I had... I wouldn't be on the internet now. Food is about ready and life couldn't really get any better. Drop out of school now! Don't take Flu shots, and for all that it's worth... Live free lives doing exactly what you want to do. Fuck yeah.
