I work overnights at a residential facility for "troubled teens." I got off at 7 AM and my days off are Tuesday and Wednesday. My life sucks.
Any punk rock or metal or reggae or grime or not-hip-hop? Don't give me any hipster tripe either. I have a feeling the other staff at this damned magazine will have that garbage covered.
Action Bronson will probably get on there. I'll check out Statik Selektah... saw them live in like '04 or something I think. Home Brew Crew is definitely gonna get a mention of some sort, but they didn't put out a full-length so I dunno.
I might include Tech N9ne's new album. It was way better than I had expected. Maybe new Wu-Tang. Maybe Bad Meets Evil despite that god awful Bruno Mars joint. Maybe Childish Gambino except that his beats are still always terrible. Maybe Tyler.
Other lesser known possibilities:
http://illroots.com/2011/06/03/fowl-good-vibes-mixtape/ - gonna give this FowL joint a listen later. I liked the single (
