i guess i should have said that this isn't the computer i am wanting to install it on. i have an old computer that has ubuntu on it from when xp crapped out on me so i suppose i'd have to do a clean install, which is going to be the next thing i have to google. the readme says not to unzip it. this one works just fine and i'm not going to risk messing it up with pirated software. i have a working winzip and winrar.
