  1. Some that I've seen recently that I would recommend: The first zombie film ever made. Stars Bela Lugosi and Madge Bellamy, who later shot her millionaire ex-boyfriend for cheating on her, and said something along the lines of "I only just nicked him, I know what I'm doing, I'm a crackshot". The acting ain't always so hot, but it's quite an elegant film and was the catalyst for every zombie film that came after. I Walked with a Zombie (1943), similar to White Zombie in that it also deals with the Haitian voodoo zombie, but this was a much different type of horror film, filled with ambiguity and subtlety, where everything is not what it seems. A very cerebral film, one of nine, low-budget horror films that Val Lewton produced for RKO in the 1940s. They hired him because they thought he would produce standard, generic horror films but he had something else in mind. Not as good as the comic, but still an entertaining, scary vampire flick. They left out a key plot development from the end of the comic that really should have been left in. Other than that I liked it. I've probably posted this before, but this was a great film. Forget the shit re-make that came out recently, this is miles above that garbage. Far ahead of it's time and viciously brutal, both physically and psychologically. A great look at a dystopian future where corporations rule the world and only one sport is played, Rollerball, in order to not only pacify the masses, but to brainwash them into believing that individuality leads to death. James Caan stands up to the man, and creates a legend. Lots of people didn't like this film, it seems, and my buddy hated it. But it was promoted all wrong, the studio tried to sell it as a horror film when it is really about the psychological breakdown of a woman into paranoid schizophrenia. It's based on a popular, intelligent stage play, another reason people who were expecting a cheap horror thriller like Saw were let down. Based very closely on the book, from what I've heard. The Coen brother's latest film, done only as they can do it. It is more Blood Simple then Fargo, maybe somewhere in-between the two. A very good film, a very scary villain, and a refreshing return to the dramatic for the Coen Brothers. Movies I've seen that bored me or just were not very worthwhile: Lucky Number Slevin (gayest name ever), Ocean's Thirteen was total trash and very boring, The Pursuit of Happyness was fairly generic and too family-friendly. My film professor, who is also a movie critic, went to a screening of Hitman, and said that it was better than a movie based on a video game has a right to be. He writes for Cinema Fantastique, among other publications. He says it was mostly an action film, but at times it was surprisingly intelligent, yet still ultimately just an action film. His biggest criticism, and this makes total sense, is that if you send out a world-class assassin to kill someone secretly and then blend into the crowd, why would you want to send out a bald-dude in a suit with a bar-code on the back of his head? He might as well hold a sign up saying "I'm the guy who did it!"

Ah, I figured it was some sort of simulation trip.

It's fake. In the game, I guess you have a "mom" who sends you "presents" if you don't play for a while. The whole strip is supposed to be an in-joke for people who play the game.

Supposedly there is some sort of sci-fi element to Assassin's Creed? Anyone?

Not me, no way man. I'm into the real thing. That game is just Dance-Dance Revolution for your fingers. I do hope it forges a healthy and strong development scene in the Boston area, however.
  6. He's a good drummer but he's also a fucking loser who has never made music that doesn't suck total ass.
  7. ^^ What movie? I'm pretty fast when I sprint, but I can't run for too long because I smoke cigarettes. Unless it's to catch the train or running from the cops, then I can run pretty far. But regardless, I did not enjoy "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels", I thought it was boring and pointless and cheap. To each his own.

There are so many good games coming out or that have already been released!! I can't keep up with it! I'm still barely past the first couple of levels on Halo3 and still working on Flatout: Ultimate Carnage, plus I have MoH: Airborne that I loaned to a friend since I haven't even played it yet. With school gearing up towards finals, I have no time to play all these awesome games! Plus, there's Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect (been waiting forever for that), and that game Timesplitters or whatever looks pretty cool. They should fucking learn to release shit in the summer time, when all the kids have time to play the games because they are on break and need something to do so they won't have to go outside! Look at Bioshock and Dead Rising, both those games came out in early August and sold really well. LEARN THE FUCKING LESSON: GAMES CAN BE RELEASED IN THE SUMMER AND STILL HAVE REALLY GOOD SALES!!! Yeah, it was only mentioned about 3 or 4 posts above yours ya fackin' moron.
  10. The thing that I loved so much about Demonoid.com was how clean it was. There were no pop-ups, the page was never crowded with ads, and the layout for torrents was beautiful, having a list posted per day of what was uploaded. And most of all, the in-site search engine was the best I've ever seen. Accurate and detailed, it was a breeze to find anything you wanted on that site.
  11. RIP Demonoid.com, the best private torrent site around. You could find anything there, from Photoshop to "Evil Dead" to the latest comic books. RIP, and fuck anyone who goes against torrent sites. This is the message that you get when you go to http://www.demonoid.com: "The CRIA threatened the company renting the servers to us, and because of this it is not possible to keep the site online. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding." I looked up the "CRIA", turns out it's the Canadian Recording Industry Association. They were brought down by CANADIANS!!! Oh the humanity. I urge everyone who knew the greatness of Demonoid.com to write the CRIA and tell them they are assholes. I did it, and it helped start the long healing process. Fucking Canada.

That's funny, all these idiots were coming into the Bioshock forums and not only shit-talking Bioshock and saying it wouldn't be anywhere near as innovative as Crysis, but they were also shitting all over 360 users saying that they sucked because Crysis will only be out on the PC.
  13. Gay crap penis vagina faggot gay.
  14. I want this Joker to be a mix of Frank Miller's version in DKR, Sam Keith's version done in the recent miniseries "Batman: Secrets", and the lunatic, crippling, rapist, murderer from Alan Moore's "The Killing Joke". IF you have not read "The Killing Joke" then you are not a true Batman fan. Run now to your local comic shop and buy it, or consider yourself a permanent newb. Oh, and on another note, I don't have very high hopes for "The Watchman" and at, since it is one of the greatest graphic novels of all time, perhaps THE greatest, and Hollywood has already butchered Moore's other works, AND it is is impossible to tell that whole story even in three hours. AND, you can't trim anything from that story without making it good.
  15. I have very, very, very, very, very, very, very high expectations and hopes for this movie. This will be better than any of the other super-hero sequels, and most likely better than any of the other super-hero films, including Spiderman. Ironman is also looking like it might be pretty interesting, although it seems like it's gonna be a three-hour long movie. My film class professor brought in his special critic's promotional trailer for the film and it looks epic and might actually be pretty cool.

The South Park making fun of Guitar Hero last Wednesday was fucking hilarious. "YOU ARE.....FAGS!"
  17. I never said anything about winning it all, but they are definitely a strong team this season and deserve some credit, or at least they will if they keep up the pace they are going at. I don't foresee them getting too far in the playoffs, but I don't think they will get swept like they did the last time they made the playoffs.

I was just kidding about pre-orders, jeezzzzzz. I think I played that Douglas Adams game, I remember it, but I'm not sure if I had it. WeapX: There is rumor that Metal Gear will find its way onto the 360.
  19. The Boston Celtics ain't over-rated. They were second-to-last in 2006-2007. They sucked hard. Now they've gotten a lot better and are getting noticed. They went 4-3 in pre-season and they're 2-0 so far, with a lot left to go.
  20. I tried watching this the other day and it bored the fuck outta me. I didn't even bother finishing it. Totally over-rated.
