  1. Good. Celebrities are in powerful, influential positions. Just look at all the damage that cunt Paris Hilton has caused to adolescent culture. Flagrant public decadence in their position has no justification and should be punished to the maximum. It's one thing to shoot heroin or smoke pot and keep quiet about it, but to publicly promote it is another thing when you are your influence is so great on culture and society. Think about the message it would send to kids if he got off for torturing dogs to death.
  2. He was an over-rated quarterback who was mainly good at running. That's about it. I appreciate the fact that the guy has far more athletic talent then I will ever, ever have, but he is and was still highly over-rated. And this was my opinion before the dog-fighting bullshit and without knowing at all what kind of person he was as a human being. The guy had great running game, but couldn't pass well enough to be truly great.
  3. Children are much harder and far more expensive to take care of than animals and their veterinarian bills. Thousands and thousands of dollars more expensive. And then if they go to school, tens of thousands of dollars more expensive. And still, there are many people that adopt foster children or unwanted infants. So many people want to adopt unwanted infants that there are waiting lists.
  4. This is why dog-breeding in general is a sick and twisted concept. Those little, tiny purse-dogs are an abomination of nature. That's why I like cats, they are just what they are and they won't change for anyone. Sometimes it makes me want to kick them, but in the long run, they are true to what they are. Mutts are okay, too, because they are rebelling against forced breeding. If that sounds like activist talk, it's not, it's just my personal asshole opinion.
  5. You need to find a new hobby if you like breeding animals to kill and suffer. I'm no activist but it doesn't take a genius to know that it is barbaric. I don't care how "down-south" traditional it is. What makes Vick's case even worse is that he tortured the dogs afterwards. This stuff shouldn't be 24/7 news but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be punished.

So I'm about to go HD and have made a decision, and Amazon.com offers the TV for 500 dollars less than BB, Sears, or Circuit City. Even with the four-year warranty it is still 250 dollars cheaper. But I am hesitant to order something like that from them, does anyone have any experience with this or know anyone that does?

Anyone know what the deal is for those of us who bought their 360s before they had the HDMI output? Will Microsoft replace them or do I have to go to Best Buy and pretend that it's broken so I can get a new one?

I strongly disagree. People get disappointed by the game because they expect something like GTA where they just run around and kill zombies the whole time. The game actually has structure and strategy, which makes it much more difficult and therefore much more rewarding once you figure it out.
  9. Also, a "nigga on the block" would probably receive more than just 90 days of probation for murdering dogs, dog-fighting, and gambling. He might not get as harsh a sentence, but he would get more than 90 days probation. That's just ignorance, saying that. Another thing, Michael Vick is a famous football quarterback and is/was an idol to many, many people, especially kids. He is in a position where he can greatly influence people, and the judge took this into consideration, I am sure, when he handed down the sentence. A person has a certain responsibility when they come into that much fame.
  10. I bet they show The Longest Yard in prison a lot. Fucking dog-killing faggot! http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/law/12/10/vick.sentenced/index.html
  11. Haha, yes! One of my first threads was on this kid and the crazy photoshops people did of him.

  14. Go to college and take a Social Ethics class. You'll find it listed under the Philosophy department.
  15. The buff is more artistic than some of the shit around my city. Some of it, not all of it.
  16. I ate a rice krispy treat from one of those clubs that my step-brother brought back over the summer and it fucked me up all over. I don't smoke much at all and I had no idea how strong that one little cube-sized treat was. I was sitting in the attic trying to play guitar while fending off fierce paranoid delusions as tears ran down my face. I couldn't even leave the house to take out the trash. Call me a lightweight, I don't care, I don't see how that could help anyone unless they were terminally ill.

Oh, and Amazon.com is selling an awesome-looking Panasonic 42" 1080 plasma (th-42pz700) for 500 dollars less than Best Buy and with free shipping. But digging through the reviews of various sets on Amazon.com shows that there are lots of head-aches when dealing with Amazon, like broken sets, damaged property, only a 30-day warranty, and inconvenient delivery times.

Finished playing through HL-2 again on the PC, still a great game. Working on Episode One right now. Steam, as much as I hate it, is a great way to buy a game without having to leave your computer chair. Does anyone else save constantly and quick-load whenever you take a hit for those games? It takes me twice as long as most people to beat a game because I can't stand having anything under 100 health/100 armor. I'm looking into getting an HDTV and BJ's (similar to CostCo) has a Sony 1080p model (KDL-40VL130) for $1599 and it looks amazing (40"). From what I've gathered off the net, that model is the same as the KDL-40V3000 that they sell at Best Buy for $1899. The reason the model number is different is so that the wholesale stores can sell them for cheap and Best Buy and Circuit City don't have to price-match them. Sounds ridiculous. Buying a TV has become so complicated. There's a JVC 1080 model that is cheap and looks great, but I dunno how much I trust the brandname. Then there's Sharp and Samsung, and even Phillips. BJ's has a Phillips 42" 1080 for $1299. Supposedly that model is not compatible with DirectTV boxes, but I don't have DirectTV so I might be ok. I just don't know! Also, take a look at the trailer for the new game, "Rage", by iD Software, the company that ruined my life: http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/48294 I highly recommend downloading the "HD" version, because you can get it fullscreen and it looks sweet.
