How hot are those helmets? Cause during summer here, it's 95+ everyday for 5 months straight. Anyone got suggestions in gloves that don't look like relics from sir arthurs court? Something just plain and black and not all fucking technical with jive shit all over it.

'sometimes you gotta race, nigga'. went looking at bikes today. was surprised how fucking big those shadows look. i guess i never paid much attention till i was looking to buy one. they're huge. also looked at HD sportsters. i kinda hated them in pictures, but upclose i like em way more than the hondas. they're alot smaller with less shit all over them. blah blah blah.

its not an issue of wanting to 'look cool', so much as just...i think they look fucking ridiculous. im sure it would be much safer to rock a full leather suit with padding all over the thing, but i'll be honest, it would never happen. those gloves look like something a knight would wear. im aiming a little more low tech.

ok, im bored so lets talk about some shit. HELMETS is it completely retarded that i absolutely do not want a full face helmet? i really like the idea of not grinding my face off on the street, but i hate these things and think they look ridiculous if you're not on a sport bike (where, for some reason, i think open faced helmets look retarded and out of place). i know vanity and asthetics are a dumb reason to forgo safety, but i dont know, im retarded like that. gloves i need to pick up a pair of gloves for my MSF class. it gets WICKED hot here most the year, so i need something light and comfortable. leather. any suggestions?

Re: motorbikes! yeah, i'd do something real similar i think. maybe a little bit more rear fender, and i'd keep the rear springs (he's got a solid bar in their place). i could take a stock bike to something real close to that for under $500 easy. only thing youd really need to drop money on is the pipes.

Re: motorbikes! spent 10 hours driving the freeway today. tons of bikes. funy how much more attention i pay to them now. going over all the bumps and dips and shit...the idea of doing all that on a bike is fucking freaky. its already scary for me to think of doing 80 going down a freeway, but throw other cars and crakcs and shit into the fray and that shits a panic attack in the making for me. when yall started riding, i imagine you werent through a 'learning period' where you were freaked out by cars, city situations, etc, right? eventualy you become more comfortable and move on to longer rides, crazier envrironments? im not even sure i like riding yet, and im already planning road trips.

YOU SHAVE YOUR LEGS, you gash. yeah dude, you can do a lot with these bikes. super customizable. http://www.hondachopper.com has a ton of shit. id really like to find a shadow vlx600 affordable softail, not too big, not too small, etc. shadow 750's are pretty nice even just stock. put a solo seat on em and a couple little custom jammers and you're good to go.

Re: motorbikes! first off, dudes hanging with other dudes and using the word 'sexy' is mad creepy. please stop. second, i dont know man...i hate that style of seat. that's my objection to the old CB's. they all looked like that. it's not hideous, but also not my thing. besides the power difference, im also worried about the weight when you get up to bigger bikes like 1200s. your tacking on an extra 200 pounds, to a bike thats already 450-500. thats a whole lot of weight for a beginning to be wrestling with. the likelyhood of me dropping something like that is about 190%

NH everyone ive talked to about em really likes em. i like the shadows big ass front wheel. spokes are rad too. i hate that the sportsters all come with mags. fuck that gay shit. i really hate the rear fender on all these bikes. thats the first thing im chopping the fuck off.

Re: motorbikes! naw man, sportbikes are fine, just saying it's not what im looking for. i didnt want people to try and waste their time trying to sell me on it. not gonna happen. yup, MSF. start it next month. wish i could start it sooner but shit was all booked. it doesnt have to be a shadow, but in looking around there seems to be a lot of them, so parts and custom shit will be plentiful. im also looking at yamaha v-star's. i think they're 600cc, cant remember. a harley sporster 833 is also an option, but i dont know man...just seems mad faggoty to buy a harley as a first bike. id rather graduate up to one if i get real into it. id like something older, just so i dont have to worry about fucking it up, hacking it up, etc. something i can learn how to ride as well as work on. if anyone has suggestions, im open.
