  1. izze izzee dead? Quoted post [/b] i had this bad feeling no one would get that...
  2. i'm a little drunk so this will be my last photo babble for the evening because i imagine itsgettin old and boring. Polaroids and pinhole cameras are the shit. Combining the two is even cooler. WORD IS BOND SON SHAMEEK GOT BUST IN THE HEAD TWO TIMES
  3. oh, and if you do go digital you should really consider using a Mac and make sure you only use some quality lens(I suggest nikon lens or canon. If you can't afford it Sigma is a must. Avoid Tamron(decent but not the best), Takor, and Vivitar) Random babble on Sigma: When I used to shoot 35mm I'd only use Nikon lenses(so pricey but totally worth it in the long run) My room mate shoots with a Nikon N90 and uses all Sigma lenses. One day I left my 12mm-24mm lens at our apartment so i borrowed his and i was shocked by how crisp they are. Definitely great lenses for the price. As for their digital SLR i can't say much because i honestly don't know nor do i have any experience. I'm pretty sure GnomeToys shoots with one(i could be wrong) but his stuff is pretty quality so i guess that can speak for the camera.
  4. I have a pentax 6x7. they don't make a digital back for it but the way i see it, i don't need one. The only advantage is the imidate turn around. If you buy a medium format film scanner($1000 - or $200-$300 for a good flatbed with a mask) you get the same exactly quality as a 22megapixel back for more than $9k less. Also another opition, shooting medium format with a digital back is stupid, just go buy some standard professional dSLR. To shoot medium format with a digital back defeats the aesthetic quality of medium format much like digital ruins the craftsmanship of photography. There is a reason most galleries won't accept digital prints. Have fun when your hard drive crashes. MyPants/ Pro Film till DEATH
  5. picked this badboy up today: i didn't get a chance to get film but it doesn't matter because i need batteries. But someday I'll post some sweet transfers onto canvas.
  6. OMGZ LOLZ This has been worth the wait! I would love a copy of this! DAMNIT! Everyone did an amazing job. This has been such a wonderful success that I'm jealous I wasn't involved, but it's ok, I'm first on the next list.
  7. he's obviously in Africa to get some mother fucking yellow cake. duh.
  8. chupa> Yeah, those are digital. I flew out to see my girlfriend in Chicago and only took my dad's digi. I just finished all my final projects and I was completely photo'd out and didn't even want to take a camera but i felt naked without one. Plus, everytime i've previously flown out there I've always had a problem with the x-rays fogging my film. They tell you anything under 800iso is safe, that's bullshit. I've had 100iso film fog hardcore. So yeah, those will probably be the only digital stuff i post up. As for contrast, I was touching them up in photoshop and some of them practically fell apart with more contrast. 5 megapixels is a lot when you can see them. I too enjoy really contrasty photos but after the last year of nothing but black and white printing for your teachers and having to have your prints dead on, it's force of habit to try and get things dead on. Oh, and my dad rocks the Canon Powershot S50.s
  9. Hyrax> I liked your shots but I have one suggestion: Don't be afraid to get dirty, don't shoot from your face. The Bird and the Worm technique, shoot from different angles. Nice stuff though, glad someone still uses film. Polaroid heads>> I just ordered and box of 55 and 59 film, I've got a show coming up at some local coffee shop(not a big deal at all) but I'm doing all transfers and emulsion lifts. I'll post up the final stuff before the show. I'm hyped.
  10. rager> um, no offense but that is pretty gay.
  11. angerpants> I'm down for whenever. I get back may 10th. I have no obligations other than trying to find a job so if jbrsh is down that would be cool.
  12. a little splash of boring: raaaagggeeee> when i get back from chicago i think it would be in our best interest to go to eastern state.
  13. gnome toys> that was a pretty stupid question. Rage> Am I on the list for the second one?
  14. another slide show! when i compressed it the photos got a little grainy but whatever: Nicotine, Valium, Marijuana, vicodin, Ecstacy, Alcohol
  15. fucking camera shows are like drugs parties. I will be there for sure
  16. final time! slide show preview for my photojournalism teacher: Photo Essay
  17. That or meet up and take pics. Quoted post [/b] that sounds good. start doing research on abandoned places in the area and i shall do the same.
  18. angrypants> I'm in chicago until sunday perhaps monday i'll get your print done. I can jack a poster tub from work or something and we'll do the address exchange thing.
  19. Rage> Maybe we should start throwing around the word, "toy" whenever someone posts traintracks...(this is me kidding) I agree with him though, if you aren't making some crazy ass macro shot of the rail itself don't bother, they're overrated and boring.
  20. http://www.kevinconvery.com BETA VERSION .00006 I've lost all interest in web design
  21. jbrsh> i bought it off one of my teachers with a 165mm lens and the flash came with a battery pack, claps to put it on a light stand, and an umbrella and the whole thing came in this crazy pellican case that looks like a bomb. my teacher gave me the whole set up for $1500. the camera and lens go for like $1200 and the whole flash package goes for like $900. cheggit> those shots are really nice. what kinda camera are you using?
  22. one second> go with a nikon digital slr, they have better optics than canon thus providing a clearer picture. i've seen digital camera with 2 megapixels that are using nikon lens that can be blown up to 20x30 just because of the quality of the lens they shot with
