  1. They're expensive as hell now but from what this guy has told me it's literally a back with a little 3CCD chip on it and and use those small scan disk cards. They aren't that good but they're supposed to be "easier" than polaroid proofs. In addition to these supposed backs people are just using digital cameras in general for proofs. Prof told me polaroid's only real market now is for proofing. I'm a complete Luddite when it comes to the film verse digital thing. Fuck that digi crap. I need something tangible and I need to know I actually put work into something I'm doing.
  2. Yeah it's extremely expensive. With regular 4x5 negatives it's like a dollar an exposure. I'm assuming I use the 552 film or whatever I'm not too sure but it looks like polaroid sells it by the box which is good because I'm sitting here thinking like an idiot that it's like $27 for like one exposure. My 4x5 class isn't until tuesday so I'm pretty much lost until then. More importantly, I had some professiors talking about how digital is going to put polaroid out of business now that they are making digital backs for most cameras. How do you feel about this rage?
  3. So i had to spend $1200 on a 4x5 camera friday but yesterday I spent $200 for a polaroid back for it. I only feel good about the back though. Hopefully 4x5 Polaroids by the end of the week. Fuck college.
  4. contact sheets, index sheets, proofs, whatever you want to call them rule. they rule so much I might even make it plural, urban and spell it with zeros, R00LZ! post em if you make them frequently. http://plugintothefaithless.com/faithlessenter.jpg'>
  5. Haha, I'm actually glad you aren't interested. I went thirft shopping with the lady and found all of these for a buck each and had no real interest in them(other than the auto103...it looks so cool.) and prematurely posted them thinking you'd be interested then I started to see if I could still get film for them and my interest slowly grew into a small obsession. I just ordered a the twin pack of the 667 and a pack of the type 88. I'm expecting them to arrive sometime before friday so probably when you get back there will be pictures up. For the "swinger" that site you linked said it was "roll film" I was wondering if that's actual roll film as in like 120mm film or if there is some crazy roll polaroid film I am completely unaware of. Edit: That actually reads "Attention My Pants Pants" and that makes me laugh for some odd known reason.
  6. ATTENTION ALAN MC ANGRY PANTS http://www.plugintothefaithless.com/Picture1.jpg'> I picked these up the other day: (L to R) Polaroid Square Shooter 2 Land Camera (Type 88 film) Polaroid Swinger Model 20 Land Camera (I think this takes actual 120mm film, not sure though...film???) Polaroid Colorpack II Land Camera (600 film) Polaroid Automatic 103 Land Camera (film??) All of camera aside from the Automatic 103 have some cheesey little faux leather cases and I also have two 6 packs of flash cubes! I'd like to use the autmatic 103 and the square shooter but nothing more than shoot a couple pictures. So you interested in this lot of cameras?
  7. So today I was registering for classes and all that and I am told: "Oh, you need a 4x5 camera for this class. it's $475 your first semester and $375 your second to rent it. Or you could just purchuse it for $900. We have an amazing school discount from B&H." So I took out another loan and bought a 4x5 camera. I know nothing about this camera other than the film is 4x5 and what it looks like. I don't want to wait till september to learn more about it so I'm begining my e-research now. Does anyone have experience with these? And if so, how do you feel about that? Do you prefer large format over medium or standard? At the school store Ilford bw film is like $1.75 a roll...I win.
  8. DAUGHTERS! lastnight: http://www.plugintothefaithless.com/kevinconvery/bands/daughters/daughters1.jpg'> http://www.plugintothefaithless.com/kevinconvery/bands/daughters/daughters2.jpg'> http://www.plugintothefaithless.com/kevinconvery/bands/daughters/daughters3.jpg'> plain ol' kodak 400 I also shot an entire roll of Chrome Elite or whatever it is, I sent it out when I picked these up. I'm really anxious to see how they come out.
  9. I'm just shy of retard when it comes to flash. I really do like the idea of them opening in the middle, that would be rather nice. But liek you said sizing could be a definate problem and I refuse to have people scroll to see the whole picture. I'm definately going to experiment with the idea. I was also thinking of inverting the color scheme...I'm not sure. But regaurdless, I'm tired and my eyes aren't holding themselves open anymore. So all changes will be made tomorrow. ' thanks for the feedback
  10. thanks, BUT You = gayness. (I linked you, so don't complain.) Seriously though, What would you recommend instead of the pop ups? I don't know flash so a slide show is kinda out of the question. And the pictures can't go any smaller than they already are because they look really crappy(all prints are originally 8x10 and the digi stuff is 5megapixels so it's ungodly huge.) but I can't really make the iFrames big enough for them. I don't know, this sadly is what I've been doing all day.
  11. I'm working on a photo site. Only a handful of pictures up so far. I'd like feedback: http://www.plugintothefaithless.com thanks
  12. That would be my wrist... I just ordered a ten pack of them due to all my friends asking where to get them. Bike store ran out so I'm distributing them amongst my social circle. A good friend of mine has cancer and I've had a few people close to me die of cancer so I don't have a problem spending $11 on these bracelet even if I am eating ramen
  13. http://www.plugintothefaithless.com/photos/TLR.jpg'> Picked this up today for all of $5. Anscoflex II TLR. Read up on it online and it dates back to the 50s. It takes 620 film which they don't make anymore but I managed to jam a roll of 120 in there. Apparently 620 and 120 are the same exact film on the 620 has a smaller spool. I'm pretty hyped about this camera so hopefully you will see results soon. If anyone has any information about this camera please share. I only found out a little.
  14. http://www.plugintothefaithless.com/photos/erin.jpg'> Solarized paper sucks. Fucking 45 second exposure with plus 5 contrast. So much for that "light tight paper safe"
  15. Thanks for the info. I was at the camera store the other day and was just like, "What the fuck?" Another question!! Is it possible to buy straight up photo emulsion? I know they sell it for screen printing and such but would I be able to get some emulsion and put it on say a piece of aluminum and try and make a print that way? Like an old fashion tintype?
  16. Hey, what is the difference between an SLR camera and a Rangefinder? I understand the whole slr being about to see exactly what is coming through the lens and rangefinders having the viewfinder just there but are there advantages? Why do leica's cost so much?
  17. Anyone else know what's up? So yeah, I put on like 10 pounds over the past month. Found this badass Astra bike from like the 70s and it's getting repaired now. So I'll post some pics when it comes back and start riding, i'm siked.
  18. I now own a scanner and I spent $700 for school so a nice sized box of goodies from B&H should be on my front door step tomorrow morning. ZING!
  19. Ranting because I hate everyone HARDCORE AND THEN THE SONG IS ALL LIKE DUN DUN DUN RAISE YOUR FIST IN THE AIR DRRRRRRUUUUUGGGGGG FFFFFRRRREEEEE DUN DUN DUN Ok, let's get a few things straight. 1)MESH SHORTS ARE FOR SLEEPING IN AND/OR DOING SOME KINDA SPORTY ACTIVITY! If you come to a show wearing mesh shorts trying to get tough with someone no will take you seriously! 2)SHAPE UPS DO NOT MAKE YOU ANY TOUGHER NOR DO HEADBANDS! I'M SORRY YOU BRING SO MUCH MOSH YOU GET ALL HOT AND SWEATY AND CAN'T HAVE BEADS OF SWEAT IN YOUR EYES GET IN THE WAY OF YOUR FLOOR PUNCHING DURING THE NEXT BREAKDOWN! 3) "You Never know what you mean to me; NEW JERSEY" is no an acceptable group shout during a breakdown, infact it's just stupid. 4)being like 16 and having NJHC tattooed on your knuckles is not cool. There is no real scene in southern new jersey and five bands at most that actually play hardcore music, your band is no one of them. 5)beating up 13 year old kids with baseball bats due to their slipknot t shirts is not cool nor tough. BUT HOWEVER! Saying the following phrase before moshing at a show will always be funny and extremely tough: "YOU FEEL THE FLOOR? NO REALLY, FEEL IT! HARD RIGHT? THAT'S HOW HARD I BRING THE FUCKING MOSH" My hat goes off to you if you use this. Stop going to shows.
  20. ALAN MCANGRY PANTS>>> After viewing your portfolio on the polaroid site I started wondering around I was wondering if you had an opinion on the Holgas with the polaroid backs. I'm really considering dropping the $125 on one but I have a hunch you know something I don't. help a brotha outtttttttttttttttt
  21. http://www.plugintothefaithless.com/516/3.jpg'> http://www.plugintothefaithless.com/516/9.jpg'> if anyone would like to GIVE me a hasselblad I'll make out with you.
  22. ESE You wouldn't happen to know developing times for black and white 120mm film with d76 developer? I just shot a roll on my holga and went to develope it and realized I threw away the packaging. If not, does anyone know where to find developing times online? All it says is FUJI B&W 120mm
