TheoHuxtable..
Nobody walks around using scientific language. When arguing technicalities, semantics, and scientific taxonomic classes, we do. Which is what we're doing now. But no, I do not go around calling dogs "canids" on the street. But when people like you want to be technical, then such terms are necessary. TheoHuxtable..
A wolf isn't a dog. A dog could be perhaps classified as a domesticated descendant of the wolf. Quoted for truth.

DRUNKEN-ASSHOLE-ONER
You did say during that argument that urine isn't sterile. And you were wrong. Then, in typical DAO fashion, you try to create an air of confusion to mask your false statement by talking about dumpsters and who would or would not want to sit on a piss-soaked toilet, and hepatitis, and whatever else you can think of. The fact is you did say urine isn't sterile. Urine is NOT "sterile" if it's coming out of a hepatitis infected junkie. Which it's safe to say that if you go around sitting on piss soaked public toilets, you're eventually going to sit in the piss of a hepatitis infected junkie. Whereas squating over thin air behind a dumpster is 100% safer. That's exactly what the whole fucking argument was about, but in true Theo fashion you want to twist the shit into something completely different. TheoHuxtable..
You sound extremely inexperienced when it comes to drinking. It comes from years of experience of drinking, and from being around some heavy drinkers. The fact is that the majority of people I knew at bars or parties act in a way that a depressant, alcohol, would cause someone to act -- speech is slowed & slurred, feel relaxed, and sometimes fall asleep. Doesn't sound like a "stimulant" like cocaine to me. Then there's 1 or 2 asshole people, who are generally assholes when not drunk, that get riled up and want to break shit or slap somebody walking by. People like you. Sometimes they get away with slapping someone, or they get their ass kicked.

We're talking about normal urine from the average person. Urine is acidic to the point that bacteria can't survive in it.

http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_761569837/dog_family.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canidae Can you find anywhere in any of that, that claims that a wolf is a dog? Posting a link that doesn't even support your stance makes no sense. And besides, Wikipedia doesn't count. You could just simply edit it and put a "a wolf is a dog" in there. But, I sure can find a source from Merriam Webster's that suggest the two are not the same: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/wolf "any of several large predatory canids (genus Canis) that live and hunt in packs and resemble the related dogs;" http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/dog "a highly variable domestic mammal (Canis familiaris) closely related to the gray wolf" DAO loses (again). SwampFightOner
I don't even get why you keep posting those links The first one is simply using a laymans term (dog family), and then IMMEDIATELY says it contains "dogs and RELATED animals such as wolves blah blah" The second one completely backs up everything we've said, about the family being Canidae, and members of the family being called canids. Did you even read them?
MAR
LOL! I'm going to break this down for you, because it's pretty simple. Wolfs and Dogs are not the same. Fact. Wolfs and Dogs both come from the same evolutionary line commonly referred to as Canidea. The wolf, more specifically, the Grey Wolf is known scientifically as Canis lupus. The domestic dog is known as Canis lupus familiaris. Please note they both have the same beginning in their scientific name. The Canis lupus familiaris, is theorized to be a domesticated version of the Canis lupus. (They are in fact very close in nature and there have been cases of half breeds of dogs and wolfs. These are referred to as Canid Hybrids, Wolf Hybrids, or Wolf Dogs. If indeed a dog and a wolf were the same there would be no reason for distinction.) The argument at hand is whether a wolf is a dog. This would suggest that dogs came before wolfs or that wolfs were all domesticated into dogs and then regressed into being wolfs again, which we know is untrue. So take it or leave it, because I'm not going to post on this topic again.

How the fuck does that detract from the fact that a canine (or canid, or canidae, or whatever other scientific name for dog) is infact a dog?
