EPMDfan
I never used the stuff, before my time, but some for some reason that colour holds a god-like status in the aerosol lexicon. Like Hot Pink etc.. That said - I think this piece (respect to Risk) is painted with that shit: The only thing Icy grape is the force field and inside of the N and the little sliver between the S and it's kick out. The purple in the fill of the S and N is more then likely Krylon Plum(safety purple). West Coast writers used a lot of Krylon back in the day because everywhere out here sold it, Rusto was harder to find...
some dude
when i first met Porn in 1987 he sent me some paint. it was some funny brand that i never saw before (and havent seen since). but the colors he sent was almost identical to icy grape. just guessing that soon piece may be that color since that paint and color was readily available in LA in the 80s.. as for that King2 Tracy, the color on the tracks and trucks of the car look way off. i think there has been some color correction although the pices probably were that vibrant in real life im sure since they were using much better paint in the 70s.. You used Growco. It was generic Krylon swap meet dollar paint but worked good and had some nice colors.

EPMD, didn't Touche by Zynolyte also have a color that was similar? Don't have the color chart handy, but I do know that it was primarily a left-coast paint. Growco was def big out there though, Frame was a fan of the Growco as I recall.

Don't have the color chart handy, but I do know that it was primarily a left-coast paint. Growco was def big out there though, Frame was a fan of the Growco as I recall. The Touche "Deep Purple" was a much darker shade. We used to use the shit out of their Spearmint color and their Burgundy had purple in it, it was dope too!!! That paint was nice and thick and sprayed like butter!!! The Epoxy Wild Violet is real close to Icy Grape as well... Yeah Growco was a cheap flea market paint and I heard rumors it was made by Krylon but I have never confirmed that. It was thicker then Krylon so I'm not sure it was made by them...
