EPMDfan
Dope Is that purple fill in the Tracey piece Krylon Icy Grape? I'm not sure if the whole thing is a photoshop but the color definately is... But if anything that is closer to Federal Safety Purple Rusto then it is to Icy Grape... The cloud is closer to Icy Grape but the colors are so fucked up that question really can't be answered...

ALLEN BOYS by LEE [the wall] is krylon icy grape. Icy grape was hard to find when I started writing in 1980.
imported_joewelcome
Icy Grape was kind of a dog for paint dealers. They made it from 1970 to 1980 and a lot of people say it never sold... so a lot of people didn't order it. That pic is pretty distorted, and it's hard to tell what's what in many cases. Trains fade too.

Zed_Eastwood
considering the cap color does not accurately represent the true color, and this is also a photo - this should still give you some general idea of what icy grape was supposed to look like. i agree with epmd, the dominant purple in the piece looks closer to fed safety rusto,,,but the darker purple looks closer to icy grape... Actually, I've seen other photos of this piece and the colors were quite similar to what you see here. I thought it was fake too when i first saw it
Amuser
I never used the stuff, before my time, but some for some reason that colour holds a god-like status in the aerosol lexicon. Like Hot Pink etc.. That said - I think this piece (respect to Risk) is painted with that shit:
Zed_Eastwood
when i first met Porn in 1987 he sent me some paint. it was some funny brand that i never saw before (and havent seen since). but the colors he sent was almost identical to icy grape. just guessing that soon piece may be that color since that paint and color was readily available in LA in the 80s.. as for that King2 Tracy, the color on the tracks and trucks of the car look way off. i think there has been some color correction although the pices probably were that vibrant in real life im sure since they were using much better paint in the 70s.. Cannibal007
Strike had such a wicked tag, especially with a mini, his pieces never quite approached the caliber of his tags. Good to see him represented all the same -- he was very up, and very stylin, in the period before right before RTW degenerated into thugs and crackheads.
