  1. TDC book? great stuff, but many of the photos are waaaay oversaturated in photoshop. Bad job on color.
  2. nice...that's new. Chris217 tag with a mini. Wonder who did the DE
  3. One of those photos is MY photo, and I have the negative to prove it. I don't really mind or anything, but seeing them put a copyright symbol on my photo is irritating.
  4. Neat collection of Dondi stuff, although the person who posted it is claiming copyright over things they don't own.
  5. Why did Cap set out to destroy all lines? Anyone know of a CAP interview where he goes into details? Style Wars paints him as a stone cold racist (and a bit of a psychopath), but those who know also know that there has always been tension between ethnic races regarding the so-called ownership of graff (a preposterous idea, but let's go with it). Some argue that it is completely an invention of black subculture, but where does that put people like Taki and Phil T. Greek? Ok, so Style Wars painted him a racist, his more recent film exposure (e.g., Style Wars redux, bonus footage) seems to show that he is at ease with anyone, regardless of ethnicity. So what's the full story? Since he started his crusade to destroy all lines, I always assumed CAP was just on a joy ride, nothing else. So what was the deep dark ulterior motive behind his throwups? Inquiring minds want to know.
  6. I'll be ordering a copy shortly. I'd be interested to know how many copies you printed up, or is Blurb a 100% PoD (print on demand) venture? Anyway, props and I'm looking forward to seeing it.
  7. He also hit up Chi-193 --- a female writer who got up quite a lot in spite of not going bombing much. No disrespect intended, but it does appear that Zeph did quite a lot of Chi-193's throwups.
  8. The only decent show with graff back in those days was the evening news. TELL ME those who were around NYC in the 80s...didn't you watch the local evening news hoping to see some bombed out subway cars riding by? Things were simpler back then
  9. To be honest, I wish I had never seen "Dreams Don't Die". The subplot (anything besides the graffiti was subplot to me) was horrendous. The whole thing was one giant cliche'. I ask you, could the kid have been any WHITER? I mean that kid was damn weird looking. Makes me sick just thinking about how that actor looked. Kirk was no better...fuckin baby faced baby-gangsta, with some fetal-alcohol syndrome. The cop was halfway decent, as a cardboard cop cutout. Overall a big let-down. The one scene I liked was when the kid busts out his marker and tags stuff when he knows he shouldn't. C-
  10. Sad to hear that. On the other hand, it's sort of a switch to hear of one of us passing naturally. guess age really is catching up!
  11. Strike had such a wicked tag, especially with a mini, his pieces never quite approached the caliber of his tags. Good to see him represented all the same -- he was very up, and very stylin, in the period before right before RTW degenerated into thugs and crackheads.
  12. Actually, I've seen other photos of this piece and the colors were quite similar to what you see here. I thought it was fake too when i first saw it
  13. i like the piece underneath with the icecicle drips, wish i had a pristine photo of that.
  14. There is a photo of Wayne benching in Jack Stewart's dissertation. I showed it to Wayne and he confirmed it was him, and identified the other cat in the photo. No question about it, Wayne is the same guy in Stewart's dissertation.
  15. I'll settle this shit right now. The original Jack Stewart dissertation has a photo of StayHigh 149 benching, and it is WAYNE!
  16. Yes, the above Priz car is a drawing over a photo of a train. And the PC Kid piece above is photoshopped. I'm sorry but there were no PCs in 1974.
  17. That layup above is fort hamilton. The church ave layup is a big open space with 4 tracks, 1 train fits on each track. Fort ham on the other hand is long and has the arched ceiling in some places.
  18. Yeah, it looks really good, but you can see the train is blurry while the art is sharp. (They have photoshop brushes to correct for that, btw). I'm sure they just did drawings, not intending any more. Hell, photoshop would have been a godsend back in the 80s, would have helped a lot in planning and execution of pieces!
  19. That Priz-Stan is a drawing on the photo, not an actual train photo. Really nicely done, but not a photo.
  20. Re: NYC Subways - the good stuff Tags? The sickest, most memorable tags were KAF and Chris217
